Golden Fish Sushi & Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

The restaurant looks good inside.

However: the food was mediocre. We didn't expect a lot from asian food on Rhodos, of course.

However, crab wontons are literally filled with philadelphia cheese with crab taste. Yes, waitress told me "it's philadelphia crab", but I thought "okay, perhaps some not so tasty crab species as usual, whatever, its fine, I agree". But it was philadelphia cheese, not philadelphia crab... In menu, and in waitress words, not even once the word "cheese" was mentioned. Also the taste was really mediocre, to say the least.

The worst thing is that my wife waited ~40 minutes for simple noodle with vegetables. This dish was tasty, no problem. But 40 minutes... Waitress then told us that they waited for me to finish my starter ("crab" wontons), and only then they just STARTED to cook our main dishes. Reminder, my wife still didn't eat anything while I "enjoyed" "crab" wontons.

Free fried bananas were also mediocre, unfortunately.

From the price poont of view, its not expensive. But we would not return.

One positive thing is that waitress suggested us free fried banana+ ice cream, even before we ordered other dishes, just to make us happy. That was cute, we...

I have to change my rating once again. Every time it's becoming worse. From 5 stars just 3 years ago, they managed to steadily but surely hit bottom. I feel very sorry about this. I've been visiting this restaurant for more than 20 years but nowdays it's just not the same anymore. The main dishes have absolutely no flavor and use completely different recipes. For example chicken with curry doesn't have potatoes, peas and carrots anymore. Service is absolutely atrocious. Slower than a snail. There is absolutely no communication. We waited for more than 20 minutes just for someone to come and take our order. Then 40 minutes more for the appetizers. We had to ask 4 times for the receipt to pay so we could leave. They insisted on offering us complimentary dessert, which while it is still free, it's no longer delicious and it made us wait half hour more... Again I'm very sad about this outcome. I'm sure staff in the kitchen has changed and I will try my luck to the other Chinese restaurants. Maybe they work there now, I don't know. Overall, the renovation made the space looking really nice, however this restaurant is plagued by bad food and service and I will never go...

Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Only in the first 5 minutes are you treated like a customer. The staff were rude as if they had to "deal" with you. And believe me, they didn't want to. Me and my partner recieved nothing but dirty looks from the staff and that's all we got from them. Not even poor service, as no one came to our table after we gave our order. Our glasses were empty for 20 minutes even after they cleared our empty bottles off the table. Out of 7 dishes I ordered, only one was served hot enough for you to think it was cooked in the last 10 minutes. And as the food was coming out there was at least a 10 minute gap between the first plate (rice) and the last plate (satay chicken) and we tried the dishes as they came and they were cold from the start. also whenever a dish came out it was dropped onto the table as opposed to gently being placed. I would've brought this up to them but they didn't want to listen and avoided us like the plague. Even to the extent of moving dirty plates to another table then wandering off for a chat. Unless you want to be treated like scum avoid this place at all costs. AVOID....
