The Agora Modiano Market is a beautiful and historic market in the heart of Thessaloniki. It was recently renovated and reopened in 2022, and it is quickly becoming a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
The market is home to a wide variety of shops, including food stalls, cafes, and boutiques. There are also several restaurants on the premises, offering everything from traditional Greek cuisine to international fare.
The market is located in a central location, just steps from the waterfront and the city's main shopping district. It is easily accessible by foot, bicycle, or public transportation.
I visited the market on a Friday morning, and it was surprisingly quiet. However, I could tell that it has the potential to be a very lively and vibrant place. The shops were well-stocked and the food stalls were tempting. I enjoyed a coffee and ice cream, and I explored a few of the small shops.
I believe that the Agora Modiano Market has the potential to become the new modern heart of Thessaloniki. It has all the ingredients for success: a beautiful building, a central location, and a wide variety of shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend visiting the market if you are in...
Read moreI love walking through this market, just for the atmosphere.
This market is tucked away in the heart of Thessaloniki City with entrances from a number of streets including the Aristotelus Promenade.
Pram and wheelchair friendly, alleys are quite narrow and cobbly, but flat.
You can find everything at these markets, Foods, Restaurants, clothing, gifts, shoes, bags, gifts, Holy Icons, Greek Coffee Bars, Delicatessans.
There are no ATM's at the markets themselves, however there are ATM's on the Aristotelus Promenade.
Be careful of the hawkers at some of the entrances and do not get distracted by them please guys.
It is open every day of the week except Sunday.
Good idea for tourists to use a belt wallet under your shirt or a lockable backpack.
Dont haggle too much please travellers. The prices are ridiculously cheap already.
The fresh fruit, and supply of freshly roasted nuts is exquisite at this market. It would be really sad if you came to Thessalonki and missed a walk through this bustling little market.
Have a great holiday guys. Chrisse F,...

And no upcharge for the location—same prices as you can find elsewhere in town. Plenty of seats upstairs.
♿️ friendly. Stores have no steps or a small lip for entry, and there is an elevator with ramp for the upstairs. HOWEVER, the bathroom door is transparent (see photo)!!! Not okay. Please ask management to fix.
🐶 Dog and child friendly.
⏰ Note: Half the shops are closed on Sunday, but still worth your time. Even the breakfast spots don’t open until 10 (8 on other days).
🥵 Suggestion to Management: It is too hot inside. The fans upstairs help, but not enough. Also, please post which stores are open on Sundays (half are closed). Also, you NEED to replace the ♿️ bathroom door (see photo—people deserve privacy). Please fix ASAP so I can give you 5 stars. You’ve done so well on...
