The arrival and entrance started promisingly, creating the feeling that we were heading to a modern and creative exhibition, but unfortunately, the visit quickly turned into disappointment. For the children, education is limited to a coloring book and a memory game about money, while the older ones can solve conceptless and silly tasks. The exhibition doesn't address anything beyond pressing buttons on screens. The displayed items boil down to a coin collection and a maximum of a dozen real objects.
In the rooms, there's generally more staff than guests, so the strictness is high when they're not giggling at each other's stories. They can't help or educate much more than what is already written next to the exhibits.
Credit must be given to the creative professionals for trying to make something out of nothing, but without a clear concept, they fail to achieve their goal. It's evident that the exhibition doesn't operate on a market basis but is rather an unnecessarily extravagant showcase project on a Borat level.
At least in the shop, you can find some excellent books exclusively published by Pallas Athene, which help you turn away from the Western world and look towards the East. /s

Read moreI found the most interesting part the information panels downstairs, where the cloakroom/lockers are situated. Other than that, the "exhibition" was boring and with not much contents. If fact, it is all rather a game about the value of money over time, and you will spend the majority of your visit in front of screens (there are five tasks you are supposed to go through) solving queries/tasks about money, and the tablets and screens are extremely slow! Since it is new, the rooms are sparkling and modern. Staff was nice and helpful and spoke English. It is very easy to book online with just a few clicks, and equally to cancel your visit should you not be able to go (via the link on the email confirming your booking). Although on the website it may look fully booked for weeks ahead, I recommend also checking on the day you decide to go, as I found some available time slots for the very same day, I assume precisely because the system is very flexible and puts back the free tickets as soon as...
Read moreExcellent exhibition with an extensive history of the money trail, the way the stock market functions, and it is educational as well as interactive. One could learn about renowned Hungarian inventors also. BUT: as an individual visitor you are to fend for yourself!!! I would highly recommend to the establishment to make organized tours with a tour guide available at least once a week for individuals who made reservation ahead of time. Otherwise many intricate details will be missed, because it is almost impossible for an individual to cover the entire exhibit on their own!!!! Also, an English speaking guided tour would be very welcomed. Prior to making reservation we were told that upon arriving we would be “added” to a group which did not happen. Unfortunately, guided tour is available only for a group of 10 ppl or more. So be aware! We were so very grateful for Gyöngyi👋 who was very hospitable, as we walked through the section of the exhibit she was the...
