Zappi Napoletana — Restaurant in Budapest

As residents living directly across the street, we had high hopes for this becoming our neighborhood pizza spot. While the food quality remains outstanding - with authentic Neapolitan crust, vibrant tomato sauce, and premium toppings - last night's experience revealed serious operational flaws.

The Issues: • 38-minute wait for a single pizza (ordered 8:38pm, served 9:16pm)

• Chronic understaffing - just one person handling dough, toppings, AND oven • Complete lack of warning about extended wait times

The Redeeming Factor: Our server David deserves special recognition - a truly pleasant young man who: ✓ Noticed our frustration and sincerely apologized ✓ Went above and beyond by comping a delicious tiramisu ✓ Maintained professionalism throughout the ordeal

Our Verdict: The food itself deserves 4 or even 5 stars, but the experience tonight was a 2 at best. If they fix their kitchen staffing, I’d happily return—but until then, I’ll think twice before ordering here on a busy night. Good pizza isn’t worth this kind of wait.

The vibe is good, very nice pizzeria. We ended up not going for food but the pizzas looked amazing! Staff is very friendly. Toilettes are clean. Overall, I would recommend but whoever visits will need to mind the following: the rose froccs is not drinkable. You cannot even order the rose separately and when they mix it with water it still tastes horrible it is a smart restaurant so you need to order and pay by using a QR code which might not be the friendliest customer experience for all people e.g. if you don’t have your card details saved in your phone it can be a bit of a hassle. We did pay via the app, I am not sure if we had asked for a terminal they would have been ok with that or not there are NO gluten-free...
