We (🇮🇹) had the pleasure of dining at a Vietnamese restaurant in Budapest that stands out from most other venues in the city. This is not a commercial or touristy spot, but rather a hidden gem with an intimate and authentic vibe. The restaurant, understated and meticulously cared for, offers a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. It wasn’t crowded, and we were seated immediately without any wait. The dishes are carefully crafted, incredibly flavorful, and the menu offers a well-balanced selection: not overly extensive, but thoughtfully curated to avoid confusion while fully satisfying. Each item is clearly described both on the menu and by the staff, who were kind, polite, and highly professional. We started with NEM CUỐN - Summer Rolls, accompanied by an exceptionally delicious dipping sauce, and the BÒ TÁI CHANH - Beef Salad, a unique and harmonious blend of flavors. For our main courses, we opted for two Pad Thai, perfectly prepared and absolutely delightful.

Cozy and stylish spot offering authentic Vietnamese and Thai dishes. The warm, dim lighting creates a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a laid-back lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and polite. We tried a few dishes and were really pleased with the flavors. The crispy Prawn Spring Rolls is a must. Light, crunchy, and packed with delicious filling. You’ll have a hard time going back to the regular spring rolls once you tried these. The prawn Pad Thai was also delicious, perfectly balanced seasoning and texture. My personal favorite is the Mango Sticky Rice which was sweet, comforting, and beautifully presented. One of the highlights is definitely the Mango-Passionfruit Lemonade. Refreshing and bursting with tropical flavor. Here they make it with fresh fruit unlike most places where it’s just syrup. Lastly, don’t miss out on the traditional Vietnamese coffee. Authentic Vietnamese and Thai food that is so tasty! Cung is a proper gastro experience, and it’s great to have such a lovely restaurant in this area! The staff are welcoming and friendly. The drinks are made with fresh juices from real fruits, and it shows! Whether cocktail or alcohol-free the beverages we ordered were all delicious and very special. The menu is incredible. There are some classic Vietnamese / Thai dishes, and also some typical local dishes that we were fascinated to sample. The owners have worked at other landmark Oriental restaurants in Budapest before opening Cung, so they really do know their stuff.
