I just was in Reykjavik on a trip to Iceland and was leaving today to go back to Canada. There was a piece of art in the window of this gallery that interested me and since I did not have time to make the purchase in person (I was heading home and had a flight to catch at the airport), I sent the gallery a message on Facebook as well as an email about the piece of art that I wanted to purchase and ship to my home in Canada. My message was friendly and respectful and provided all details regarding my shipping and billing addresses. I was willing to provide payment by credit card via an online invoice. I also attached a photo of the piece of art (stained glass) that interested me to purchase. Shortly after sending this message, I received an angry 😠 emoji face in response. The employee who sent me this emoji did not actually reply to my message with actual words; they simply sent an angry face back at me as a response to my request to purchase art from the gallery. This type of hostile reaction is out of step and not in keeping with the way I have been treated by businesses in Reykjavik and in Iceland more generally. I have been to Iceland five (5) times and NEVER ONCE had this type of negative experience dealing with anyone there in a business context. It is inappropriate to be so hostile and nasty to potential customers. I would appreciate if this matter could be rectified by someone working in the gallery who is not angry about dealing with customers who wish to buy art from the gallery. I am disgusted by the response I have received at this moment. Attached here is a photo of the item I wanted to purchase, which was also included in my original Facebook message and email that was sent to the gallery today, Monday April 11. Judging from the reviews of this business that I have read here on Google, it seems that other people have had issues dealing with a specific employee / employees who work in this gallery and their hostile/indifferent/nasty attitude to customers. If you wish to rectify this matter, then rI will provide you with my coordinates for where I can be contacted on Facebook or by email. Yours truly, LV STEINMAN

Just been here and bought a lovely piece of glass artwork as a worthwhile souvenir of Iceland. The shop is a collaborative of 15 artists who all have various pieces of different styles of art throughout the gallery. I was lucky to meet the lady behind one of the more elaborate paintings (which I've also attached pic of), she was very warm and welcoming and showed me to the other similar items to make sure I was happy with my choice. Make sure you visit even if it's just to look around. I've read past reviews and must say if the person on the desk doesn't say hi to you first, say hi to them and I'm sure you'll be met with a smile :)

We were interested in a large painting in the window. The sales person grudgingly helped us look at it, but seemed disinterested in our business. We went back despite this to purchase the piece at 4.30pm, knowing the gallery states it’s closing time on their window and on Google as 5pm. The gallery was closed!! So, we did not spend 220,000 ISK… disappointed that we are unable to purchase a beautiful painting before we fly home tomorrow morning, and that the local artist was unable to sell their piece as a result of the gallery closing before advertised time. ☹️

I love the art. Beautiful pieces. The owner was in the store while I was there preparing packages for shipping. I said hello she barley acknowledged me. I tried to engage and experienced a cold wall of indifference. I spent $600 and felt like I was in her way as I waited to pay. Down the street went into another gallery and was met with warmth and lovely energy. I didn’t buy anything however spoke to women running gallery, lovely conversation and she made a point of saying goodbye. I bought the art to remember my amazing trip to Iceland, support local artists however really regret paying to support this gallery and the...
