Mini Punjabi Dhaba — Restaurant in Bengaluru

I have been dining and having takeaway for minimum 10 years, But the quality and service of the dhaba has been deteriorating each day.

Dal makhani their signature dish is bland. (5/10)

Lajawab panner is no more Lajawab and flows with oil. (1/10)

Panner butter masala tastes like ketchup and dalchini masala. (0/10)

Even the simple Garlic kulcha was roasted to crisp. (2/10)

Frankly speaking North Indian dishes served in Darshinis taste far better than here.

Speaking of service now. Before writing a review, I had informed the owner and messaged on WhatsApp. But he didn't even care to respond to my message nor to show any concern.

FYI The person always responds on WhatsApp as i used to place orders in advance before.

Yesterday (16/10/2024) was the worst experience ever.

I paid 893 for the food and it was not even worth 300 rupees. The taste was horrible to an extent where you couldn't even continue eating after singer serve.

Even the roadside hawkers serve...

Ah! Finally went to this place after 7 years. This time instead of dining, preferred a take away. As it was take away, we didn't try many items. We took only Phulkas, Palak Panneer and corn capsicum. The taste of corn masala was good and the palak panner was somewhat OK. Though the Phulkas were soft for 5-7 minutes after the parcel was unpacked but became hard after that. Not sure why. Another interesting fact is that they did not provide the salad as it was a take away. Even after charging so much they missed to provide. I personally felt that phulkas & panneer items were slightly priced high. The ambience was Ok. The waiting time on Sunday is more. So plan your visit accordingly. The place was very crowded as it was a Sunday. Had to wait for 20-25 minutes after placing the order. Parking of cars is slightly difficult as this is located in one of the busiest roads. I must say DISAPPOINTING! After reading the reviews I decided to have my lunch in here for a change. As soon as I entered I noticed that the place was little clumsy with the uncleaned tables around. However I found a table near kitchen and sat down neglecting the ambiance. At last a guy showed courtesy over me by presenting the menu after 10 Mins. Price is really cheap that's the only factor attracted me.

I orderd Gobi Paratha which was above average with less ingredients; Paneer Paratha which was just average and I tried hard to find the Paneer's clue in that, but I failed; Dal Fry was below average & truly disappointing. Roti were crispy and good.

As I sat near the kitchen I got the glimpse of cooking area and it appeared very unhygienic. Especially the curry cooking area.

Final Verdict: I would like to pay another visit to try paneer curry and roti, hope it will change my mind. The service and quality has to be improved...
