Stayed here for 4 nights in December in one of the dorms.||||The dorms are set up like most hostels except that there is about 20 beds in the dorm and the shared bathroom is connected with the dorm with I think about 7 each of shower and toilet cubicles. The beds are custom made bunk beds and very sturdy, so you shouldn’t really notice your bunkmates. Each bunk comes with two electrical sockets, a private light and privacy curtains. There’s also a thin blanket which is not necessary when the AC is off and too thin when it’s on. The mattress and pillows were clean and comfortable.||||The dorm has a few small tables and chairs where people can sit and eat, but it’s not really a social area. The reception also two couches which again is probably too small to use for socials.||||Here’s Wifi throughout the hotel, worked well and fast enough for most purposes.||||Location wise, it’s pretty much in the old city of Ahmedabad and all the attraction are close by or within easy walking distance. There’s also plenty of restaurants close by as well as several local markets, although the latter is more aimed at locals.||||Overall I had a good stay and would consider Charyana again the next time I’m...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised how our stay at Charyana heights dormitory turned out. They do take in foreigners which is not a given around here. The price is very fair with around 500 rupees per night (there are cheaper options as well) and you can also choose between a female only dorm. other than that: the sheets were clean, the cats are cute, there is a laundry option with reasonable prices from 70 ruppees for 1 kg and everything is air conditioned. Our beds got access to two plugs which is really neat, along with its own light and a personal fan, in case the air con in the room doesn't already do it for you. There is free and quite fast Wifi spread over the dormitory. Furthermore there was either a staff change or we just did not have the same experience as some of the other comments here as there have been no issues whatsoever. The locations is very close to the old town and there are bus stops all around, this is probably the cheapest still comfortable options for travellers around here, i thoroughly...
Read moreSo there are some owners who only think about there money, Cheap owner. The person who is sitting at reception is the most arrogant in the world and he is not ready to compromise anything. First of all i visited Ahmedabad for a Marathon race and I checked in morning at 6:30 am and i was ready to check out at 6:30 next day morning, i have a small request to the reception guy, please allow us for coming back after our race is over around 9:30 to just use your washrooms to have a bath and i will leave immediately but that person has denied to allow us for entry and demanded us for full charges of day and i have requested 3-4 times that please allow me as I'm athlete i will be going back to Delhi on the same day but that person has not allowed has to take a bath after our check out, i agree he might be right at his point but customer should be treated as priority and i have offered 200 rupees to use washroom but he has...
