Went on an unplanned trip to Birla Mandir on Sunday, Ekadasi,2nd June'24. As this my second visit in my life after a very very long gap and my son was going first time, we didn't know it was at such a height. We took a Metro train from KPHB to Assembly. But Lakdikapul was the nearest metro station. Being a hot sunny day, auto driver said he will take us closer to the temple entrance. But to our shock the back side entrance route was equally tough to walk and as we had to leave our slippers and phone near the start of the hilly steps route ...and the road and tiles were burning hot, the walk up to the temple sanatorium was a nightmarish experience. By half the distance, meaning a stop at the Sai Baba Mandir level itself was like walking up the Mokalla Parvatham in Tirupathi. I took nearly 5-7mins for my heart to stop thumping. So pls avoid taking very senior people and very young kids who cannot walk all the way. After another couple of set of steps, we reached the premises closed to Sanctorium.. but had to go round circumambulating in a heavy queue in the hot sun to the sanatorium from outside to reach the inner premises and get darsanam. However, the views from Sai Baba Mandir level was wonderful with water from Hussain sagar and Buddha and beautifiul scenaries. As there was no phone with us we couldn't take pics of the beautiful surroundings, Hussain Sagar, Naubat Pahad, etc... Young people can enjoy when they go with friends.
