I, along with a friend of mine, recently visited Hotel Rukmini Reviera located besides Dwaraka A/c Veg. Restaurant & Tiffins, and honestly, the experience was quite underwhelming. We ordered the vegetarian South Indian thali, expecting a hearty, flavorful meal filled with the typical goodness of Andhra and South Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, not a single item on the plate met even basic expectations.
From the rice to the curries, everything lacked freshness and taste. The sambar was bland, all the curries felt watered down, and the vegetables seemed as if they had been prepared long before serving. The pooris were dry, and the sweets on the thali tasted like they were straight out of a refrigerator rather than freshly made.
To make it worse, the presentation and overall serving style didn’t reflect the charm or warmth one would expect from this category of restaurant. The staff was polite, but that alone couldn’t make up for the disappointing food quality.
I genuinely don’t know whether it’s always like this or if I just caught them on an off day, but for the price and reputation, I expected far better. Maybe they do better with tiffins or à la carte dishes, but as far as the South Indian thali goes, it was a complete letdown.
Overall verdict: I don’t recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re craving authentic, flavorful South Indian food. There are plenty of better vegetarian options around that serve thalis with more care, taste,...
Read moreAlthough it's been many visits to this place, over a period from 2020-2023 I have observed as the business post covid has settled to be better and boosting, such established points are slowly losing focus on taste, service, even seating amenities. Namely a Car Driver of may be with a customer was washing dirty moping cloth in hand wash area wash basin😖. The wada served was cold and Rock solid instead of being at least warm and crispy at 8.30AM itself in such South Indian fast service place. Idly used to be 🥵 hot and we used to see hot fumes earlier but now even the Sambar is just manageable. The service staff is confused with tokens and allocation of respective items to customers flocking. Plate idly(2pc) and one Wada cost ₹90, not very cheap but affordable and justified for what Dwaraka maintains the place and hygiene to be, however off-late even the crowd is flocking and indisciplined both at the token counter & self-service places. Not again. It's definitely become another tiffin center with no USP. THIS IS...
Read moreThere was heavy smoking smell in one of the 3 rooms I had booked. Should have been cleaned thoroughly prior. When complained and asked for a spray they washed the floor with a good smelling disinfectant, didn't remove the smoking smell much.
On the first night they gave us no keycard for 3 rooms, saying they had a shortage of cards and asked to call reception if we get locked out. It was very irritating to do that and unsafe to leave room unlocked if everyone in a room had to go to another room. They should logically have enough cards for the rooms they are renting out. On the second day morning they first tried to give one card for 3 rooms (even though there was a stack of cards on the guy's table) and when i protested they finally gave me 3 cards.
Other than these two issues, the rooms were good and clean enough and the staff were friendly. There was daily housekeeping. The restaurant food was good and prices...
