Wow, what a hidden gem! I found out about the Nehru Children's Museum while exploring Kolkata with my family, and I'm so glad we decided to venture in. As soon as we entered, my kids were captivated by the stunning dolls depicting scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. I mean, who doesn't love an epic drama, right? But what really impressed me was the way the museum brought Hindu mythology to life. The classes and workshops were so engaging, and the recitation of stories had my little ones entranced. And, of course, the majestic Ganesha statue was a highlight - my daughter couldn't stop staring at it! I loved how the museum was dedicated to Jawaharlal Nehru's vision of inspiring young minds. It's clear that the team here is passionate about education and making learning fun. The exhibits were so thoughtfully curated, and the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We spent hours here, and I couldn't believe how much we learned and enjoyed ourselves. If you're in Kolkata with kids, do not miss this place! It's a treasure trove of knowledge, creativity, and fun. 5/5 stars, would definitely recommend!

The Nehru Children's Museum, located near Exide More, Kolkata, is often known for its extensive collection of dolls. While it may be true that dolls play a prominent role in the museum's exhibits, it's important to note that the museum should offer more than just a doll collection. A Children's Museum aims to provide a space where children can engage in creative and interactive learning experiences. Here in Nehru Children's Museum, apart from dolls, the museum has not featured much variety of exhibits and activities designed to stimulate children's imagination and curiosity. These exhibits often include displays on science, history, technology, culture, and art, tailored to appeal to children of various age groups which is missing here. While the museum's doll collection may not be everyone's cup of tea, it does hold educational value. Dolls can be used to teach children about different cultures, traditions, and historical periods. They can also be used to encourage storytelling and imaginative play among children but those kind of detailing is missing here. It's important to consider that the Nehru Children's Museum caters specifically to children and focuses on providing an environment that fosters learning and creativity. While some children may find the doll collection fascinating, others might be more interested in other exhibits within the museum. Ultimately, the museum's name reflects its historical significance and connection to India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who was an advocate for children's rights and education. Renaming the museum solely based on the doll collection might overlook the broader objectives and offerings of the institution. It's worth noting that individual experiences and preferences may vary, and what one person finds interesting or engaging may not resonate with others.

Opened in 1972, the Nehru Children's Museum is one of the popular museums in Kolkata. Dedicated to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the museum houses a huge collection of dolls. Conceptualized by the visionary statesman Late Shri Jugal Srimal, the museum was set up with the motive to impart education to children through informal learning. The museum comprises four floors that are divided into four sections: Dolls Gallery, Toys Gallery, Ramayana Gallery, and the Mahabharata Gallery. Admire the huge collection of dolls acquired from 88 countries across the globe. Marvel at the exhaustive collection of toys of western and oriental origins. The clay models depicting various scenes and events from the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata are equally interesting. Apart from the grand collection at display, the museum also imparts various courses and organizes workshops and drawing competitions for children. One of its kind in the city, a visit to the Nehru Children's Museum is a must while you are in Kolkata.

When you visit, you can't withhold the respect for this place.❤️ It has 4 floors full of dolls, toys and other items. It will take all day if everything is desired to be seen fully👌. It has two halls depicting the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata via model art. Today when a child walks into Nehru Children's Museum, he walks into a world of treasure. It touches the imaginative mind and encourages him to know more. The exhibits in the museum which are spread over 4 floors, enable a child to take off to the world of epics, the world of science and to dream world😍. This museum is built because Nehru ji has a huge affection with Children and Children also use to love Chacha Nehru a lot. You can come here with your family bringing kids. This place is so good and knowledgeable to know the history about Ramayana and Mahabharat. So I suggest Parent's must bring their kids in this lovely well maintained museum.
