Hote Made us multiple times ashamed in person. they tried to bribe us with one simple stupid pizza ROOM: The bathtub kitting was old, broken The windows were condensed.

Tipped the concierge a 20.000 for bringing me a bowl with dried rice. No complaint. FOOD The noise of the live band in the dining area was way too loud while there were hardly any people and thus we were left to order food in the lobby. Ordering food for 30+ euro(500.000)in the lobby area, around 21:00+: Hamburger, soup, cocktail and icecold orange juice After 35minutes, almost cold soup (staff confirmed), warm cheap sugar orange juice leftover of breakfast.A grab ordering would have been even quicker and of better quality and temperature. drank the cocktail, that we ordered before the meal, and found the taste very bad with the lemon just floating in the liquid and no effort of any elegance. Instead of being noticed for a refill of a different drink we were ignored by the staff. The staff asked us later if they could microwave the soup for us, after complaining and tested it arrived cold. We refused all, paid bill Later offered a simple fruit platter of leftover pieces watermelon, (the kitchen was about to close).refused again. The staff at the disco ignored me and only spoke to my girlfriend for 3 to 5 minutes.

Breakfast area Staff were talking multiple times to each other in groups of three and even laughing out loud Staff was wearing too big shoes, so walking was difficult for them Posture of the staff and upholding dishes was amateuristic and very clumsy. Multiple times that things fell down. Rude interrupts for dishes. Morning1 a piece of chicken&broccoli on the ground for 15 min, untill we told them about it(not ours) Morning 2:huge piece of fruit&broccoli was on the ground near the table by previous guests, wasn't picked up untill we asked. Many dishes with an heatscanner on my phone showed temperatures of 28 degrees Celsius where it should be 60 Many chafing dishes not closed by personnel which resulted again in cold chicken and other supposedly warm dishes There was a sales staff that tried to interview people after their food , if all was well and if they wanted to get info on renting an apartment. Such a wrong place to discuss this. Why would I say all the wrongdoings while other people are eating next to me. There was no instruction of the parking and had to pay another 100.000 extra and this could not be reversed. Not even respond and solution after we complained about it, for example to confirm to park area or offer us to refund the money back. At the second night we found a printed letter under our door. It read that we had to leave our hotelroom extra early the next day, because other guests were coming and was advised to do an extra early check out. If we would give hearing to this we would get a free service of help with our luggage. Also differences in Indonesian text and English text of checking out before or after 12. When complaining about all the duty manager in a normal polite way, she did not bother to write it down and forgot when asked.she seemed to have for everything a false excuse. Tried to change topics, hoping we would forget what we were saying. Eventually she started to cry right in front of us. We did not insult, or raise voices, everything was done in a civilized way. She kept on crying untill we helped her. Later on they tried unannounced to apologize in front of our hotelroom in the hallway, more embarrassment. We invited them in. They apologized, we told them we would do early check out as the letter asked and not felt welcome. We did not want anything but just leave. Still insists of them to come again and they offered us 1 pizza for all our troubles.Refused ofcourse. Hotelpaper stolen.Paid a fair amount, only to be ridiculed in every way possible.Later the hotel asked by sam to help them in a professional level(because of our jobs), after all embarrassment we replied to help but later were again...

I booked this hotel due to its location to GBK Stadium. It is 12 - 15 mins walk to Indonesia Arena (Jakarta Indoor Stadium) and the main stadium is just across the road from the hotel. This is a perfect hotel to avoid Jakarta crazy traffic especially during events at GBK. The downside of it is that the entrance across the GBK stadium is not accessible by e-hailing cars due to the land dispute between the hotel owner and GBK - they both put up barriers to close the entrance access. Nonetheless, guests can always opt for the drivers to pick up at point B on Gojek app. Otherwise, the driver would have to go into the hotel compound, which is very big BTW, to pick guests up and guests have to pay extra for the cars to enter the hotel premise. ||This hotel is old but it is well taken care of. The reservice was excellent. The staff are so helpful and accommodating and polite. ||We also ordered room service. The food was 2/5. It was not that great and expensive for the quality and taste. But the breakfast spread was excellent. The food was tasty during breakfast spread and there are tons of choices. ||My sister and I also got a massage at the hotel spa. We are frequent spa visitors so trust me when I say the spa service such a disappointment. I would not advise anyone to go to the hotel spa. The therapists definitely are not experienced at all. They were only kneading our flesh and that's it. There was no massage table, it was just a divan base. The therapists were wearing skirts, not that i have issues with it but as they move to massage us, it was not a pretty sight at all (i looked at my sister next to me). There was no cozy ambient set up, no relaxing music and it has mosquitos. When the session was over, they didn't leave us to change. They were there inside the room as we were half naked changing into our clothes waiting for us to get out. Dear hotel, please please please make improvement on this or just remove spa service from the hotel. With that, i would give the spa service, 0/5. It is expensive for literally nothing. I got an excellent spa service at Senayan City with only IDR80k for an hour and they served us delicious matcha latte and croissant for free after the session. The hotel spa didn't even serve us with ginger tea, as most spa would usually do.||Other than that, we would love to visit the hotel again. I would just not be getting the spa...

A legendary hotel with strategic location, located very close to GBK stadium and other tourists attractions. The hotel exterior & interior looks pretty much oldies (classic) because this hotel is built around 1950s I guess. As 5 stars hotel, I guess the hotel needs lil bit renovation in some parts to eliminate the feeling of too vintage hotel. Some corners around the fish ponds in the center looks a bit messy and creepy and very dark at night. Management needs to put attention on that. There are hundreds of room in differrent tower, also a lot of floors. Guest need to pass by a dark hallways to enter their room. The room itself is spacious, but in some point we could smell dusty and stuffy aroma that feels like the room isn't used for long. Maybe because I stayed in this hotel during Covid-19 pandemic in the beginning of 2022. The facilities inside the room is quite complete, including amenities, refrigerator, TV without netflix, fast wifi, wide glass window and bath tub. But if you need iron and the ironing table, you need to borrow from the service room The public facilities are swimming pool, gym area, restaurant, wide lobby and sitting area, ballroom, meeting room, etc. I didn't explore much because this hotel is so wide. And surprisingly this hotel had secret hallway that connect this hotel to JCC. But if you have to pass by this area, don't go alone because the hallway is sooooo deserted with almost no person normally passing by. There are a lot of legendary photos of events held in this hotel during President Soekarno. The cleanliness and beautification of the hotel needs to be improved. The breakfast are quite complete and the taste is fair. The hotel staff is good, fast response, and good hospitality Overall this hotel is suitable for bussiness purpose but for family vacation I need they need to provide more kids-friendly area. I give rating 8/10...

I had high expectations for The Sultan Hotel given its reputation, but sadly the room condition was a major letdown, especially if comfort and air quality matter to you. While the location is excellent and staff service was courteous and responsive, the room had a strong, unpleasant damp smell, likely coming from the old carpet, and a foul odor from the bathroom plumbing that didn’t go away despite efforts from housekeeping and maintenance. They sprayed the room and cleaned the bathroom multiple times, but the smell persisted throughout my stay. If I’m not mistaken, I stayed at the room 507. The air in the room felt stuffy and heavy — if you have rhinitis, allergies, or sensitive airways, this can be a serious issue. I have asthma with severe dust allergy and I found it difficult to breathe once I stayed in the room. Luckily I brought my inhaler anywhere I go. My skin was also itching from laying in the bed. Probably the bedsheet and the bed had not been vacuumed either. Bring your inhaler, allergy medication, and ointment. I personally think that despite its branding, this hotel does not meet the expectations of a true luxury stay, and the experience does not live up to the standard of a luxury hotel. This hotel urgently needs to address its ventilation, carpet, and plumbing issues.

This hotel is an old hotel that is trying to survive the competition amidst covid 19. The ambience somewhat still has its old "power", the staffs are exceptionally courteous and helpful (four thumbs up for them!),the room is spacious, and the bed (omg the bed!) So comfortable it sucks you in to make a really long relationship with them (lol). But there are downsides, their breakfast buffet was disappointing, not up to standard of their price (I even had nicer bfast buffet in 300k ish hotel) and their health protocol during covid is too relaxed, there's no limiting of people in the area, and the distance was not that far from one table to another and to top it off, they charge my daughter 125k! (Apparently kids above 5 was charged, different from the app that said 9) moreover, from 5 elevators only 2 were functional. I'm torn between felt sorry for the hotel and in the same time disappointed by the management. What this hotel needs is a clear target market and accompanied by total revamp. I truly hope they survive

The front office staff were attentive and exceptionally helpful, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment we arrived. Location-wise, it’s quite strategic—especially if you’re attending an event at the Jakarta Convention Centre. There’s a good variety of food available during both breakfast and dinner buffets, and everything we tried was tasty. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with decent amenities. The only issue we encountered during our stay was with the concierge. They were unable to provide accurate information regarding airport transfer. Due to road closures for Jakarta Car-Free Day and the Digiland Run, we were initially informed that we could leave for the airport at 9:30 a.m., but this was later changed to 4:30 a.m. Overall, staying at this hotel was a pleasant experience, and we would consider returning in the future.
