This trail is awesome, as soon as I step into this 0.3 miles 7 minutes walk inside tunnel some movies immediately show up in my mind including but not limited to 28 Days Later, Walking Dead, Days Gone, Evil Dead, Train to Busan, The Conjuring, Tremor, etc etc…Exciting! Wanna see somewhere cool? Best graffiti in Edinburgh. Something unique. Oldest railway tunnel in the UK. 520 metres long. Bit dark, bit wet. Very cool. Take a walk through to really enjoy this place. You could cycle but you'd miss all the graffiti. Don't walk in the cycle lanes. Walk to the side and take your time. Don't worry about safety, it's a safe place to visit in central Edinburgh.

Follow the signs for Duddingston, as there are no signs for the tunnel, walk through the residential area following the cycle route. The Innocent Railway tunnel to head southeast from St. Leonards towards Duddingston. It is the first railway tunnel in Scotland, and the station the railway terminated at (now a modern residential development) was the first railway station in Edinburgh.
