Waterford Treasures: Irish Museum of Time — Attraction in Waterford

I honestly cannot say enough things things about this place. It is so exquisite and beautiful. The layout is superb. We stayed for nearly 2 hours. A lovely older lady told us loads of info and history about the clocks on the ground floor. The older gentleman did the same upstairs. Such a lovely atmosphere with so much to see. I am definitely not a clock nerd, but I really enjoyed my visit. Our guide was super...enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. While the clock collection is superb...what makes it special to a non clock nerd is the quality of the craftsmanship and engineering and the way in which time keeping and clocks have been such an influence on life..really interesting to see the different ways they evolved in different countries and different settings...

This Museum was an unexpected delight. If it hadn't been part of the combined Waterford Museums ticket we probably wouldn't have gone and that would have been a shame. The Museum has an extensive collection of timepieces from pocket watches, table clocks and "grandfather" clocks - all beautifully curated in an old church.
