Church of San Filippo Neri. The Church of the Immaculate Conception and of San Filippo Neri owes its architectural setting and its iconographic layout to the Roman church of Santa Maria in Vallicella , where it was San Filippo Neri himself who wanted all the altars of the side chapels to be dedicated to the Virgin . It is one of the most interesting examples not only in Perugia , but in Italy , of the application of the Tridentine dictates in the iconographic program, which prescribed to illustrate the mysteries of faith with the facts of the Old Testament and with symbols, so that the illiterate had before their eyes everything they could not learn from printed books. The first stone of the church was laid on the day of the Immaculate Conception . Father Orazio Mancini therefore wanted to dedicate all the altars of the new church to the Mysteries of Mary 's life and compose with the stories and symbols painted in each chapel a story that would tell the faithful about the virtues of the Virgin . Entrai veramente per caso in San Filippo passeggiavo come qualsiasi turista preso dalla luce che di prima mattina si scagliava sulla monumentale facciata in travertino pensai di entrare incuriosito. Entrando si respira un'atmosfera veramente molto serafica si sente una grande energia positiva. All'interno del luogo sacro si trova un gusto del barocco legato al sacro veramente molto bello per poi non parlare della bellissima Cupola affrescata. In San Filippo a Perugia ho trovato L'architettura e l'arte barocca all'interno veramente legate tra loro. Nin si nota come in molte chiese Stratificazioni differenti. La Basilica di San Filippo Neri mi ha dato questa sensazione che ognuno può averne differenti ma storico dell'arte quale sono ho voluto mettere il mio...
