The good: They seated us without a reservation. The staff were friendly and helped us pick a great bottle of wine that was also reasonably priced. The charcuterie plate was delicious and so was the macchiato to finish.

The terrible: They never brought us (or even asked us if we wanted) our first or second courses! There was a birthday party going on upstairs and while we understand that things get busy sometimes and people forget orders, we did also sit for an hour and a half without being served. We noticed our neighbors that arrived well after we did, get their main courses and were quite frankly puzzled! When we were finally approached after what seemed like years, we just said we weren’t hungry anymore and asked for the cheque. To their credit they didn’t charge us for the main courses but weren’t even offered a customary apology. We were extremely upset and left. The sad part is that everything we tasted up until that point was delicious....

La mia prima volta all'osteria a priori. So bene cosa voglia dire lavorare in cucina.

We originally had a reservation at Osteria del Posto in Corciano, but due to an unexpected situation, the restaurant was closed during that period. However, the owner kindly invited us (a group of 14 people!) to his other restaurant in Perugia to make up for the inconvenience — and we had such a wonderful time.

They welcomed us warmly, offered us appetizers and two bottles of Prosecco on the house, and made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was delicious and arrived very quickly, and the staff were extremely attentive and kind.

Most of all, I truly appreciated the owner’s gesture — not only did he take responsibility, but he also went out of his way to find a thoughtful solution. That kind of integrity and hospitality means a lot to me.

Thank you once again — I wholeheartedly...

One of my most favourite places to eat in Perugia. I went there multiple times with various different friends who were visiting while I spent 3 weeks in Perugia. They all loved it too. The amazing food, incredibly friendly service and delicious rosé wine kept me coming back. The best pasta I’ve ever eaten is made there and I wouldn’t hesitate to return when I visit again. I highly recommend this place to eat at, again and again. Book in advance as understandably, it’s super popular.

My first visit to a restaurant this year. Following a memorable visit to The Giuditta Brozzetti Museum Workshop of hand weaving on Jacquard looms in the Church of Saint Francis of the Women in Perugia. Restaurants are re-opened post lockdown due to Covid so long as you eat outside Osteria a Priori have set up a veranda behind the adjoing church. Wonderful Umbrian menu, I had cold artichoke - carciofi, their thoroughly enjoyable gnocconi, tagliatelle with local chianina and an excellent cheesecake. They have a good Umbrian biased wine list. The service is a little challenged due to the constraints of the outdoor set-up, but no matter it did not detract from a very enjoyable lunch.

We had the chicken and veal pate, which was very flavorful, and with the fig and cheese combination it was amazing. The cheese was very intense and you could see the great quality from how it crumbled. Second courses were the pork with truffles and the lamb rolle, very tender and well done. The rustic jam tart and the brownie were the best way to end the meal. Everything was very delicious. Very important: make reservations in advance. The place is always full.
