Nice ristorante tucked away off the piazza in Perugia Central Old Town Portion sizes were suited to having all 3 courses but I suspect if you let them know exactly how many courses they'll adjust accordingly

I had strappazata with tartufi nero to start, was good but I have an inkling that the dish was left slightly longer at the pass than anticipated as the top of the eggs were just a touch drier than the rest. Very minor criticism though the dish itself was moist and tasty

For the second plate i had the mezzemaniche With pecorino , fave beans, and crispy pancetta pieces. Very good wonderful combination of textures and the fave were just right. Recommended

For the meat I went with a veal tartar with quails egg and a cream sauce with pecorino and black truffle slices (see photo)

Very tasty but obviously only if your taste profile extends to tartar. This was delicious and a fitting final plate, did not have a dessert as I'm not of a particularly sweet tooth but the pistacchi crema looked good.

The food we paired with a sagrantino x2 at a whopping 16%abv! Which was very drinkable, if mildly on the sweet side.

We were in 6 and the overall cost came to around 40€ pp definitely worth it

Good selection of wines and I can also recommend Birra Perugia golden...

The place is beautiful, location nicely hidden from the major square. They have many tables inside and few also outside. We were a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 toddler (1 pram) , the girl who welcomed us, gave us a nice table with lots of space around us. The girl was amazing! Very kind and polite, she made our experience just great. Note that my children were also making noise and playing with anything on the table (just being kids) Food: as starter we got "board of cheese and prosciutto" so tasty! Main i got gnocchi, you must try them, they are delicious, my partner got the tagliatelle (last one on the pasta page) they were just the best ever had. Dessert, i got crostata di fichi very good, my partner got Perugina, we did not like it much, we would go for tiramisu next time. Highly recommend it 5 start...

Mai stata a Perugia fino a quella Domenica di fine Agosto, con un bel sole e un gran sciamare di gente, soprattutto in Corso Vannucci e nella meravigliosa Piazza IV Novembre. Prima di guardare su qualsiasi app per l'indicazione di un posto in cui mangiare un boccone, prendiamo la viuzza accanto, la Via Ritorta, che ci piaceva anche come nome, che pareva buttarsi nel cuore del centro. Appena svoltato vediamo il cartello de Il Cantinone che, così con stupidi pregiudizi, pensiamo sia un tipico locale turistico senza infamia e senza lode, anzi forse peggio. Eppure quella nicchietta silenziosa in cui un cameriere si aggirava ad apparecchiare appena prima dell'orario di apertura, sembrava idilliaca. Rientra e mi affaccio sulla soglia per chiedere se fosse possibile pranzare all'aperto, immaginando che non ci fosse la minima chance per vai del viavai domenicale; invece mi conferma che possiamo stare noi 4 più il cane senza problemi. Grossa sorpresa. Il tavolo prenotato si rivela ottimo, anche quando tutti i tavoli sono occupati, perché non si avverte la calca, e nonostante la posizione centralissima, il rientro della Via Ritorta permette di apprezzare quella pacifica aria umbra e conviviale che disegna la città. Salumi ottimi, pane delizioso, i primi con una giusta quantità (raro, perché di solito o ti danno porzioni da lavoro o un accenno di cibo) ed una qualità eccelsa, i magnifici Umbricelli con il tartufo, e anche sui dolci, davvero una qualità casalinga (mangiando il tiramisu ho ripensato a quello che faceva magistralmente mia nonna), tutto accompagnato da Birra Artigianale locale davvero ottima. Estrema gentilezza dello staff, verso di noi, e anche verso il nostro cane a cui non è mancata una ciotola d'acqua prontamente messa sotto il tavolo, tra mille sorrisi al nostro cagnone. Ma se il cortile esterno è perfetto, gli interni sono davvero spaziosi, arredati con molto gusto e calore, così che bisogna provare il fuori e il dentro senza alcun dubbio. Un conto ottimo, quindi rapporto qualità/prezzo indiscutibile. Un Cantinone di nome e di fatto. Continuate così, grazie a tutto lo staff e un saluto a...
