Total disappointment for the value for money. Although I would give them just one point more if I didn't pay what I paid. I didn't have time and power to scandalise and beg for improvements but there were plenty of issues.
Booking.com promised a city view. My room was located on the ground floor and faced a narrow street with a nightclub. It was incredibly noisy at nights. They mention refurbishment and interior design all the time but didn't invest enough in soundproof. Also my room was next to the kitchen and the restaurant. The staff in the evenings was very loud, and again, no soundproof, all sounds from the corridor coming to the room flawlessly.
As they mention the refurbishment all the time, it indeed looks pretty. Cleanliness was OK. Some staff members were friendly and polite.
My taster-size creams and water bottles were not consistently refilled every day. The gym is there but unpopular. It's little, without enough variety. But the bottles with water are consistently there.
The cleaner left the bidet plugged so when I used it I couldn't unplug and flush, it was uncomfortable.
I had an issue with a lost item. My bad, somehow it ended up under the drawer but I can't say the staff's response was caring and efficient. The cleaner said she didn't see anything, that means she doesn't clean the floor under the drawer. At first they just tried to convince me I left it elsewhere. Obviously, just not to be bothered much. Then I asked to show the CCTV just to prove that the item was in the hotel. They have no CCTV at the main entrance. Considering the dodgy nature of the street they're located at, it's unacceptable, I didn't feel safe. The street is located at it's noisy, dodgy, doesn't feel safe.
The restaurant deserves a separate mention. The breakfast is average, nothing special, modest variety. A queue next the one and only coffee machine, typical. Not enough room, quite small space for the buffet table. The restaurant for dinner was also a poor choice. I didn't like the food, and had stomach problems after their gazpacho. The manly waiters showed cold machismo instead of hospitality.
Too expensive overall for...
Read moreWe had a destination wedding at an isolated locale near Passignano and directed our guests to stay in Perugia. For our guests’ convenience, we wanted to reserve a block of rooms at 1) a nice hotel with modern amenities that was 2) reasonably priced and 3) in a central location where they could easily walk to attractions, restaurants, and a shuttle pickup location for wedding day. Priori Secret Garden checked all of these boxes.
It doesn’t seem like room block reservation for an event is an extremely common local practice, but we emailed the hotel and Lucia handled our request and our guests with grace and apparent ease. She was so communicative and accommodating, the picture of perfect hospitality! Most of our guests ended up staying here and across the board, all of them had wonderful things to say about the rooms, the location, and the food and views at the restaurant.
I am so pleased with our experience and, from the bottom of my heart, I wish to sincerely thank Priori Secret Garden, and especially Lucia, for their care and hospitality in making our wedding guests (some of whom were anxious first-time international travelers) so, so comfortable....

Located on a corner of 2 tiny streets perhaps 200 or 300 meters downhill from Piazza IV Novembre, which is full of shops, restaurants, cafes, banks, etc. Priori's staff is attentive to all your needs and extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely with large beds and supportive mattresses, a small sofa, sufficient wardrobe space and decent bath facilities (showers as we had). Great views over Perugia from higher floor|The hotel features a terrace dining and bar area serving a limited but very well prepared array of dishes, both small and larger plates, with a fairly priced wine list.|Breakfasts offer a full number of choices in a buffet from styles of eggs to yogurt, cereal, numberous sweet breads, croissants and similar items, and several kinds of coffee preparations. Very generous.|Overall, we'd give this place an A rating and would book it again if we visit Umbria...
