We had a generally wonderful trip to Positano, but this restaurant was the one unpleasant exception—and it deserves to be clearly addressed. After our meal, one of us asked a waitress for directions to the restroom. Instead of pointing to the obvious restroom door, she repeatedly gestured toward a small wooden cabinet next to it. Thinking it might contain a key or be part of the restroom area, we opened it—only to be met with her loud, mocking laughter. It became clear that she had misled us on purpose. It wasn’t just unprofessional—it crossed a line. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic dignity, especially in a service setting. We calmly told her that this wasn’t acceptable. When we started documenting the moment with photos, the restaurant owner—who had witnessed the whole situation—seemed uneasy and asked her to apologize. Unfortunately, she simply smiled and said, “It’s just a joke, it’s okay,” without any acknowledgment or apology. To be clear: – We were not angry or emotional. Our trip remained joyful and positive. – But we believe respect has boundaries, and when they’re crossed, it’s important to speak up. Other issues included: – A rule requiring each person to order a main dish in order to be seated; – No change given when paying €100 for a €94 bill, without asking. This review is not written out of resentment—but to set the record straight and help other travelers make informed choices. Disrespect, no matter how subtle or “playful,” should never be normalized. 📸 Attached: The server still smiling after the incident; The misleading cabinet next to the actual restroom door. 同胞们,歧视,快跑。

We are 3 friends traveling through Positano. However, we feel it’s important to clear share one unpleasant experience at this restaurant, no one deserves to be treated this way! After our meal, I asked a female staff member where the restroom was. Instead of directing me to the obvious door, she pointed toward a small wooden cabinet next to it. I was confused and asked again—but she repeated the gesture. Thinking maybe the key or access was inside, I opened the cabinet. That’s when she burst into loud laughter, clearly intending to mock me. I told her right away that this was extremely rude and inappropriate, and that I would not use the restroom anymore. The owner was nearby and saw everything. When he noticed we were taking photos and recording the moment, he became visibly uncomfortable and asked her to apologize. But she simply smiled and said, “It’s just a joke, it’s okay,” showing zero awareness or remorse. For more context: – When we first arrived, we were told we had to order one main course per person or we couldn’t be seated. – When we paid €100 for a €94 bill in cash, they refused to return the €6 change, assuming it as a tip. We’re not upset because our vacation was ruined—it wasn’t. We’re still enjoying our journey together. But we believe respect matters, and speaking up is part of encouraging better service for future guests. We do not recommend this restaurant. It may look pleasant from the outside, but our experience was anything but. 同胞们,歧视!快跑!💨

Ristorante Bruno provided as much entertainment as it did excellent food. We arrived without reservations on a weekend evening and were seated at one of the three high tops on the side closer to the restaurant. Very quickly every table was taken - it would be smart to make reservations. The menu seemed a bit overpriced at first, as all we wanted were some simple pasta dishes - but flip all the way to the back page and you’ll find a long list of reasonably priced (€11-€18) staples. We split the pasta amatriciana and steak rolled with parma ham and mozzarella - both were amazing. The greatest part of the experience, however, was watching the 6 young waiters dart back and forth across the street through traffic, wave and high five just about every other passing car, and laugh with each other and the customers. After the meal finished we nursed a bottle of wine for another hour, enjoying the sunset and the energy, and were never rushed to leave. Really great place to spend an evening, especially if you’re staying nearby and don’t want to hike up or down.

I rarely feel compelled to write a review, but this was truly the worst service experience I’ve ever had in my entire life.

We did not have a reservation, but we were pleasantly surprised that we could be seated inside immediately. This was at ~19:30. Once seated, no one even approached us for 20 minutes. When someone came by, we ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our entrees at the same time. The drinks and appetizer came out within a reasonable amount of time, but once we were finished, we were sitting there for over an hour with no entrees. We fully anticipate that the pacing of meals is a little slower in Italy, but this was beyond what would be reasonable. A mom and son next to us had their entire meal, paid and left. A table behind us that arrived an hour after us had received their food while we still had not.

Upon realizing this, we politely asked our server about the status of our food. They brought out my boyfriend’s spaghetti and meatballs (which was cold at this point, probably from sitting out) and they brought me something I did not order. I told them I had actually ordered the carbonara, and they assured me they would correct this. After 45 minutes (and more than two hours at the restaurant at this point), I still had no food.

At this point, we decided it was best to just pay for what we got and leave. There was no apology, and they acted like we had somehow inconvenienced them or were being unreasonable. By the time we left, it was 22:00, so I didn’t have many options to eat dinner at all.

I can’t really comment on their food because I never got to eat, but I genuinely cannot believe we received such terrible service. There are so many AMAZING and friendly places in Positano to eat, so if you are visiting I would just...

Worst meal of our trip to Positano. We arrived at Bruno, excited to give it a try since had good reviews online and a gorgeous view overlooking Positano. But we were greeted instead with stale bread on the table, at least a day or two old. (
