Very well worth the visit! As a note, if you intenfed to see both the Grotto of Catullus and the Scaliger Castle, buy the combo tocket at the castle. Save money and time. The roman villa ruins are unexpectedly extensive and its easy to see how big this place was. The evident Roman engineering is stunning for 100 BC to 100 AD. There are signs everywhere, and visiting is self paced. It is an active archeoligic site. Price is fine (no, there isnt a higher piece for non-Europeans as a silly review erroneously suggested). The walk up can be harder for older people, but just walk more slowly. It is uphill, but not steep. Go - enjoy something most people dont see more than a few times in a lifetime, and the views...

Okay before you go, consider this: you can get a combined ticket for this place and the castle at the entrance of Sirmione. It's well worth looking into that, there's plenty of time to do both. Start with the castle, it's smaller, and this place is great to get lost in.

This is a rating only for the museum itself, not the archeological site: for 10€ entrance and since everything is expensive in this area (parking starting with 3€/h) they should provide a proper toilet, a not a one as if we were at a construction site.
