Hotel Serenella — Hotel in Sirmione

We had a short break using a wowcher deal..This is a quirky hotel situated beyond the castle in Sirmione...Staff are generally friendly and helpful, the bedding was spotless and internal areas kept clean.There is a swimming pool at the rear which appears to have been relined recently and was a godsend in the heat.|Internally the hotel is very dated with old fashioned fixtures and fittings and may benefit from modernisation of some areas.|Maintenance is an issue with slabbing around the pool needing a clean, loose capping stones on wall, dirty external drain by pool, external walls needing painting, broken light fitting in our bathroom, broken drawer front etc||There is air conditioning, but it wasn't very effective in our room and internally the fan was coated in dust.||Breakfast was lovely with a good choice which is served to you at your table...a buffet style breakfast may be better and require less staffing but table service was good.||A limited amount of snacks are available from the pool bar (toasties etc) which are reasonably priced..increased staffing during lunchtimes may help as staff seemed to be arguing about service.||Taxi from Verona airport cost about 80 euros each way...note that not all taxis can get to the hotel due to restricted access and we had to walk with cases about 500 metres.||There are numerous bars and shops about 10 minutes walk from the hotel with lovely food and ice cream....a short walk will take you to the lakeside with beautiful scenic views.||An enjoyable stay but the hotel needs to invest in its maintenance programme, Review its staffing and breakfast provision and improve...

This is a wonderful family run Hotel. It's quirky and eclectic but doesn't suffer because of this Certain aspects could use updating ( the fridge in the wardrobe needs to be on a plinth to raise it up so the door can be opened properly, the room door locks need changing because some guests are unable to open and close their doors without slamming them at all hours of the night) and as all family run establishments there is some light repairs and updating that is required. These few things are forgivable however due to the amazing family and staff that runs this hotel! The front of house staff are friendly helpful and a delight to chat too! The cleaning staff are helpful friendly and extremely good and efficient at their jobs! The rooms are kept immaculately clean. The wait staff are a joy to behold, nothing is too much, they are helpful, funny, and a delight to see every morning! If you can't find something you like for breakfast here then you aren't trying hard enough! They have the traditional Italian salty or sweet menu and you can mix and match from both with the basic Italian items already included everything is fresh and prepared for you daily! The owner is on coffee in the morning you have to try his latte macchiato it's wonderful! The pool area is clean out of the way and relaxing, but the star is the jetty with a shaded area and sun beds with steps at the end so you can gain access to lake Garda to swim a true delight! We really enjoyed our stay here hence the full star review! I really can't recommend this...

Although it is rated as a 3-star establishment, I believe it deserves a much higher rating due to its exceptional qualities and service.||The hotel's location is ideal—peaceful and quiet, yet only a five-minute walk from the bustling town center. I particularly enjoyed the lovely decking area by the lake, perfect for sunbathing. It was also comforting to know that a quiet pool was available as an alternative.||The service I received from every member of your team was truly amazing. From the reception staff to the breakfast and bar staff, and even the family who owns the hotel, everyone was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay.||The breakfast was easily one of the best I've ever had at a hotel during a holiday. The staged service was a thoughtful touch that allowed for a relaxing and enjoyable start to the day. The care and attention from the breakfast staff were truly outstanding. I also want to commend the lady who worked at the snack bar; her food, especially the bruschetta, was made with such love and was absolutely delicious. The shaded area for enjoying snacks was a great addition.||Furthermore, my room was spotless, and any requests I had were promptly and cheerfully addressed by the staff.||I genuinely hope to return to your hotel in the future. It was, without a doubt, the most chilled and relaxing hotel experience I've had...
