My phone rang while we were walking down a side street! I stopped to take the call. We noticed the restaurant was packed. We checked the reviews and gave it a shot. Ended up being our best meal in Italy! We had antipasti to start of prosciutto/cantaloupe, octopus skewer with potatoes and olives. Both were AMAZING!. I used the last few potatoes crushed up to get all the sauce from the octopus sauce. My kids both had the linguini and mussels, their plates were wiped clean with the bread! My wife had Mama Rosa pasta, peas ham and cream. I wiped her plate clean with bread, too :) I had the grilled shellfish (1/2 lobster, 2 king prawn shrimp and 2 craw dads for all you red necks!) Mine was amazing, not very filling. Dessert - the kids had strawberries with vanilla ice cream, their bowls were cleaned. My wife had the chocolate truffle and I had the white (coffee) truffle and a double espresso. My truffle was insane, I would call it more like a moist ice cream cake with an outer layer of amazing ice cream all the way around. Our waiter was amazing, slightly balding dark haired gentleman. The dude in charge was a distinguished grey haired gentleman, very polite and accommodating. Dark haired younger lady behind the bar we briefly interacted with on the way out. She told us the two sharks in the restaurant were real stuffed sharks. Look for them! When we come back this will be the first place we have dinner. If you are all about the view, don't go here! If you love food this is the place!!! I thought pricing was an exceptional value for the quality and...

My family and I (4 of us in total) visited this restaurant as my mother has a gluten allergy and this restaurant offered gluten free pasta options (although not Pizza).
We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The decor is really nice and cosy, and the initial atmosphere was a pleasant one.
However, we were then asked 4 times by 3 different waiters if we wanted bottled water, which we didn't. We were given surprised and judgemental looks each time, as if we were robbing them. Saying no once should've been enough, but we had to endure the judgement another 3 times! It made us very uncomfortable that one no wasn't enough, and we were clearly then treated differently because of it. I could hear waiters saying thank you and calling customers 'friends' on tables behind us, but with us it was just silence, even though we were really making an effort to say thank you and be polite.
The food itself was reasonably priced; I particularly liked the orange and prawn risotto. My brother's lasagne was a little small and I expected it to come with at least some veg or salad. Other wise, tasty and fresh.
Overall, although food and restaurant itself were very pleasing, the rude service was a...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped by Al Pescatore for lunch while touring Sirmione on a day trip and were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy but we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. We got the sautéed octopus and polenta to start off with and we both enjoyed the dish. It was simply made with grape tomatoes and capers but the octopus had a delicate flavor. For the main courses, my wife ordered the seafood pizza which came loaded with seafood. It was really hearty so I had to help her finish it but I didn’t mind at all. I ordered the grilled mixed fish that came with prawns, salmon, bronzini and some other fish (didn’t bother to ask but it was good and no, it doesn’t say what it is on the menu). It comes a la carte so I ordered the mixed grilled vegetables. That came with zucchini, eggplant, a large tomato, and endive (it was a little bitter so that’s what I think it was). I wanted to try their tiramisu but helping my wife finish her pizza spoiled those plans. Overall food and service...
