Staff treated us rudely and with contempt when we tried to buy a tickets to Castelmota. We wanted to buy three tickets from the ticket counter for a bus that was still sitting half empty. After telling us that there were just two seats left, we said: 'Please, is there any chance to buy three tickets'. The woman behind the counter exploded in completely unprovoked verbal tirade: 'No please, no per favore, there are no seats for you.' Needless to say, the bus left with more than enough empty seats for its 15-minutes journey. We had a journey to Messina planned for the next day and worried that we might not be sold tickets close to the departure, we queued again at the ticket counter to buy advance tickets. Even though two Italian women before us bought tickets for the next day for another destination, the ticket lady told us rudely that she couldn't sell tickets in advance even if they are for 6am in the morning. With a mean smile, she informed us, that there wouldn't be any issues buying tickets just before departure, even though only ten minutes earlier we experienced first hand not being sold tickets close to departure. This might be an isolated incident but the verbal aggression and the inconsistent approach spoiled our last evening in Taormina and made our travel plans for the next day precarious.
