Terrible experience, do not trust this service. I purchased 2 adult tickets for an Interbus service travelling between Taormina city (up high) and Taormina train station (down low) for a designated time (for a pick-up at 9.15am the following morning). Prior to purchasing, I clearly asked the service representative on 3 occasions as to where was the bus pick-up location. She indicated where the public bus station was. Knowing this location I pointed to the same location and questioned her again, her response was yes, that is the Interbus pick-up location. As my wife and I were walking close by to the pick-up location after the purchase, I decided to confirm the pick-up location was correct. A Taormina public bus representative, at the location of where I was lead to believe was correct, informed me this WAS NOT for any Interbus pick-up's. Pick-up for Interbus was a further 400 metres down the road. I went back to the ticket purchase office for a refund and had a massive argument with the sales person who sold me the ticket. She said she told me where the location was but as I told her "I ASKED YOU ON 3 OCCASIONS AND ON ALL 3, YOU INDICATED THE LOCAL BUS STATION, NEVER DID YOU INDICATE IT WAS A FURTHER 400 METRES AWAY" Only 20 minutes after the purchase of these tickets, she refused to refund them. Only after raising my voice and making it clear to her that she stooged me, she called her boss who inturn honoured the refund. Travelling is difficult enough when you are in a foreign country but having arseholes like her as customer service is atrocious....
Read moreStaff treated us rudely and with contempt when we tried to buy a tickets to Castelmota. We wanted to buy three tickets from the ticket counter for a bus that was still sitting half empty. After telling us that there were just two seats left, we said: 'Please, is there any chance to buy three tickets'. The woman behind the counter exploded in completely unprovoked verbal tirade: 'No please, no per favore, there are no seats for you.' Needless to say, the bus left with more than enough empty seats for its 15-minutes journey. We had a journey to Messina planned for the next day and worried that we might not be sold tickets close to the departure, we queued again at the ticket counter to buy advance tickets. Even though two Italian women before us bought tickets for the next day for another destination, the ticket lady told us rudely that she couldn't sell tickets in advance even if they are for 6am in the morning. With a mean smile, she informed us, that there wouldn't be any issues buying tickets just before departure, even though only ten minutes earlier we experienced first hand not being sold tickets close to departure. This might be an isolated incident but the verbal aggression and the inconsistent approach spoiled our last evening in Taormina and made our travel plans for the next...
Read moreVery aggressive and rude woman (the younger one) at ticket office who absolutely ruined our great day at Taormina. We arrived in advance to bus station, as we needed to catch our train and ferry in Messina to come back to mainland. You can not buy ticket at the bus, and there was a queue to the ticket office. And when it was our turn, bus was still there and let people in (bus at 18.30). But that woman started yelling on me and screaming, telling in a very bossy way that she doesn’t let us to this bus, she decides here everything and ‘she knows how to do her job’. In the end next bus in 15 minutes didn’t come, the one at 19.00 was late or didn’t come, and we had to pay 25 euro to the taxi guys (luckily they helped us) to get to the train station. We jumped into our train last minute.. Interbus has to improve schedule reliability and staff behavior. Taormina is absolutely amazing place, and we want to remind that tourists well contribute to the economy of the town and should be well. Such unacceptable behavior left us with the only bad memory in the south of Italy. That woman is dangerous for Taormina place and deserves it I spent my time to write...
