Es gibt natürlich höhere Faro Türme, aber Faro San Giorgio hat unbestritten das Flair, und die Lage, dem treiben am San Marco ein bisschen zuzusehen. Insbesondere zum Karneval in Venedig bietet sich San Giorgio M. auch als Hotspot für gute Bilder an. Vielleicht wird es ein wenig kühl am Karneval, aber der Faro San Giorgio wird dich emotional gut wärmen(-; der Faro San Giorgio M. wartet auf dich, beim nächsten Karneval!

Der Preis mit 6€ ist angemessen, lediglich die Tatsache, dass man nur Bar bezahlen kann ist unter Umständen schwierig. Für einen touristischen Anlaufpunkt ist das schwach.

Auf beiden Seiten des kleinen, alten Hafens von San Giorgio Maggiore steht je ein Leuchtturm (auf italienisch: faro). Diese sind eher klein und sind öffentlich nicht zugänglich. In vielen Rezensionen wird nicht von den Leuchttürmen gesprochen, sondern von der Campanile San Giorgio, also dem Glockenturm, von dem man tatsächlich eine tolle Aussicht hat. Der eine der beiden mehr oder weniger baugleichen weissen Leuchttürme liegt gegenüber vom Markusplatz und bei gutem Wetter hat man gute Sicht auf Venedig.
