Take a stroll on the boardwalk leading away from San Marco Basilica but right on the water's edge, tucked away and shaded from the sun you will find Ristorante Principessa!

Complementary chips, olives and breadsticks were brought to the table as soon as we were seated and a team of two quickly greeted us with smiles, enthusiasm, and a menu.

To open the meal, order a caesar salad, but you really only need one for a table of 4 because they are large. Although the chicken was tender and nicely flavored, it’s not needed so you can order the salad without, especially if you are having other meats. Please don’t ask for extra dressing, it comes dressed perfectly and you will simply drown the flavors of the greens, fresh parmesan cheese and make the crisp croutons soggy.

Both vegetarian and meat pizza options are available, and folks, this pizza is something special. First of all, it seems to be cooked in seconds, because I didn't get a full plate of salad finished before a smoking hot pie was on the table. The crust, ohhh that crust, a slight chew, yet thin and crisp, cheese perfectly melted and the oil from the sausage (peperoni) slowly pools, one bite and I no longer want to eat pizza unless I am in Italy! Do yourself a favor, order a few different kinds and share, but the lunch pizza size is perfect for two and you can’t beat the price.

I am not big on ordering coffee or hot chocolate after a lunch, but many do! Don’t be afraid to grab that Caffe Americano or a Cioccolata calda while digesting your meal, who's to say when you will experience a moment like this again, make the most of it and enjoy anything on the menu you desire!

I can’t say enough about the service, it was wonderful, and though tipping is not expected, the smile of the added gratuity and words of appreciation are priceless!

So if you are ever in Venice and you are looking for a nice spot to have lunch outside, drop by the Ristorante Principessa Savioa!

Do not recommend at all! Pricy and slow and unhelpful staff. HORRIBLE and slow service. I sat down around 0755 for breakfast in a pretty empty patio. No server even looked in my direction for over 10 minutes, but I was just enjoying the view, so fine. When staff did approach, I was asked to move because I wasn't a hotel guest. Ok fine, my bad, didn't see signs anywhere that I has to sit on the outskirts of the patio but ok. I was given the breakfast menu and I think my order was taken around 0820 finally. For 18.5 EUROS it seemed like an ok price to pay for a full "American Breakfast" and a calm morning with a nice view. The service was horrible, the staff was rude when I walked to in to get a buffet plate for a croissant and fruit, because they were too busy. And by 0900 I still hasn't received the main breakfast course, and obviously not the dessert of the day yet either which was the last course. I had to leave to catch my train and the staff was unapologetic for the terribly slow service and still made me pay full price even though I was there over an hour and only received 40% of what I paid for because they were so SLOW....

The food is ok but the rest is just plain awful. The waiter who served us, his name is Alex. His attitude towards us is just plain rude and lacks hospitality. When we ordered our food, he was questioning us, why we only ordered so few when there are 4 of us. (We ordered a pizza, Salad and large fries). He didn't even ask it in a joking way. He was dead serious. Then he asked us what drinks we want. We said no thanks, we have our own. Alex didn't like that answer haha. This is what he said and I quote, "No no no.This a 5 star restaurant, we don't serve like any ordinary restaurant so you will need to buy your drinks here." So we did order drinks. He made us feel like we were wasting his time and that we couldn't afford the food.

Food came and guess what? There was a hair on the pizza... 5 star restaurant, Alex said.

I gave this restaurant 2 stars because that's what it deserves from our experience. 1 star because of the ok food. Believe me it's not a 5 star quality food. Another star because we were served by a different waiter later on and he was very friendly. His...

If it wasn’t for the view that this restaurant has I would give it a 1-star review. They brought me my food and I didn’t have any utensils to eat with. I called the server over several time and he would only nod his head and never came. Finally, I was so upset I ended up getting up and getting my own fork and knife former a drawer where they kept their utensils that was pretty close to me. My husband wasn’t impressed by his blank ink pasta at all! My chicken parmigiana had no flavor ! At the end, I had to call the server over for my check more than 3 times. I understand they were busy but that does not give them no reason to have such bad customer service. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that wasn’t happy with the service Because there were many other customers that were complaining as well. It was ridiculous! Plus the server we had even told a lady that was sitting next to me who complained about her soup that he couldn’t get her anything else because the kitchen was closed! Meanwhile, people were coming in to sit for lunch and ordering food!

We just arrived in Venice after a long drive on the 24.09.22, we were really hungry and tired, so we went to this sweet looking restaurant. The waiter(an older man) led us to a table for 4 on the terrace so we could smoke, brought us menus, and after he brought us drinks, he started getting loud flipping his hands like crazy because the smoke was annoing him and said: "This is a restaurant, you shouldn't smoke at the same time but one person at a time". The hole restaurant was looking at us... I have never heard somthing like this, and never fellt so bad and unwellcomed. The weaiter could have told us silently.... The food was eddible, like I told, we were hungry(reason why we haven’t left), but it definetly look like hospital food, for wich we paid 140€, and he brought it quite quickly, what made me think that it was pre-made. This is defenetly one of the turist traps.
