Sorry but i would say avoid at all costs... no lifts, alot of stairs to reception. Most rooms in a separate building, so you have to drag your luggage downstairs again, around to another street into a separate building which is just like a hostel. Didn't feel anyway as if we had paid for a hotel. The building is antiquated, our room was above the bars and full of mosquitoes, so we were bit to pieces. The room was so out of date and small, the decor was very old, not in sty,e as we expected tgat, but i couldn’t say when it was last decorated.... the material walls were rotten and stained. The main light was a wall light which was useless. The double bed was two pushed together, but was comfortable... the only positive comment we could make. ||The rooms have no drinking water or any facilities to make a drink. Outside of breakfast hours you have no access to cutlery or any service at all.. to have breakfast we had to go back to the main building again.... the breakfast area is tiny, so most mornings we had to queue up until a table became free. You have no continental breakfast, just croissants and cereal.... no fruit or meats, the waitress was pleasant and its a shame she has to work in such a small environment... with no assistance. The breakfast room is also used to store cases as the reception desk is just a lift up flap at the top of a marble staircase.... you have to see it to believe it !!!||This hotel, more like hostel, is not suitable for elderly or families as it is has no lifts and narrow winding stairs in a dismally lit staircase and exterior.||I could go on but i now need to write to the lux hotel and give my personal review to them... if i could get my money back I certainly would.||My photos are attached, and a camera never lies.... the bathroom was cramped and inadequate. No plug in sink. Plug for bath you couldn't get out once inserted. The bath you couldn't sit in as so small. The toilet wasnt pleasant and had a seat that was too small, so when you sat on it, it sank inside the rim.. . Grout rotten, electrics on show in wall, mirror taped up with brown tape, only good thing was clean...
Read moreGreetings. After many inquiries in all channels of communication, including phone calls with the hotel, communication with booking, email correspondence, I would like to inform you that Lux Hotel does not know how to treat its customers and lacks any empathy. We booked a vacation from 25.11 to 30.11. This was a birthday present for my daughter. Due to the outbreak of war in Israel - all flights were cancelled. I contacted the hotel a month in advance with an explanation about the situation and a request to return the money paid, because there is no way to reach the destination and leave the country. Hotel ignored emails I sent. Just didn't answer. I contacted booking - I was told that the hotel refuses to cancel the reservation. I called the hotel directly with a request to change dates, or to give the option to arrive at a different time, when it would be possible to leave the country. At first, a clerk at the hotel said that I would contact Booking and they would approve my request. But after that, they said that they are not changing the dates and are not doing anything about it. I spoke on the phone with a receptionist named Luca - he refused to forward a request to the hotel's management and I was specifically told that the regulations are not to return anything. It should be noted that most of the hotels in Italy agreed, due to the war situation, to return the funds to the people, even though there was no such option. I am updating that I will advertise on social networks, including Google, Instagram and Facebook and tell about the degrading and dismal attitude of the hotel and the staff. For not answering, for disdain and not wanting to solve in any way the problem we encountered...
Read moreThe shower was great, 10/10 – warm water with strong pressure. The air conditioning also worked well. On the positive side, the check-in and check-out process were fast. The location was great 10/10 The hotel could be rated 1 or 2 stars, but definitely not 3. My experience was far from good.
First, the receptionists were not at all welcoming, always wearing a very negative expression.
When we got to the room, there was a damp smell throughout the space. The hotel seemed outdated, with peeling wallpaper, broken, and unclean furniture. The bed cover was disgusting, it looked like it hadn’t been washed in years.
The bathroom didn’t have a proper water collector, and it would flood every time I used it, so I had to clean up the water myself.
The carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years.
What was most strange and scary about our experience was that when we woke up from a nap and went to get ready to go out, we found the door to our room was open. I asked the receptionist, and he said I must not have closed it properly. After years of traveling, this had never happened to me before. It turned out the door was broken and out of order. The receptionist tried to fix it but didn’t offer to move us to another room. Still, I appreciate that he tried his best to help, even though his expression wasn’t very empathetic.
We didn’t have breakfast there, so I can’t comment on that. However, I’d like to conclude by saying that this experience is personal and not something that would likely happen to everyone, as the door breaking was a rare occurrence for us. It may have just been an unfortunate coincidence. However, I love Italy and have encountered many kind people. Venice is...
