Unique & sweet couples' activity on visit to Enoshima. Ring the bell together and make a wish. Preserve a lasting memory on a lock or on ema which you can later re-visit. The hike up can be crowded but is lined with fun shops, vendors/food, restaurants, and nature. At the top there is a great view the surrounding areas and Mt Fuji.

A love bell located in the middle of Enoshima island that you are supposed to ring three times for eternal love. We stopped here after visiting the shrine and walking around the islands walkway. It has a nice scenic view and takes a little bit of a hike to get to the top.

Nice place overlooking the ocean. There's a selfie stand to take video and pics of yourself in front of the bell with your camera. You can also walk around the area behind the bell. There are tables to sit at and enjoy nature.

It was a beautiful setting in the forest, with wonderful views of the coastline. A lot of locks left by lovers, over the years. A nice little excursion after a great day so sightseeing on Enoshima Island.

江の島の「天女と五頭龍（ごずりゅう）」伝説にちなんで造られたもの。多く人が訪れて鐘を鳴らし、フォトスポットになっている。海は遠くに見える。そして、意外に鐘の音が大きい。南京錠もすごい。そこまで映えるスポットではないが、この「天女と五頭龍」伝説はとても興味深いので大切にしたい。伝説は以下に記す。 昔々、鎌倉の深沢に底なし沼があり、体が一つで頭が五つある恐ろしい龍、五頭龍がいた。龍は洪水や山を崩すなど様々な災いをもたらし、長きにわたり周囲の村の人々を苦しめていた。鎌倉の津村の水門にあらわれては、人の子供を食うなどの悪行を働くため、子供を生贄にし、人々は嘆き悲しんだ。 ある日、この一帯に大きな地震が起こり、10日間続いたのち、天から黄金の光と共に美しい天女が現れた。天女は波の間から新しい島を造り、そこに舞い降りた。この島が江の島である。 五頭龍は美しい天女に妻に迎えようとしたが、これまでの悪行の数々を指摘されて断られてしまう。五頭龍はこれまでの行いを悔いて改心を誓い、善行を行った末に天女と夫婦になる。 後に五頭龍は西鎌倉の龍口明神社に、天女は江の島の弁財天として江島神社にそれぞれ祀られる。 ただの伝説かもしれないが、縄文時代の海岸想定図には五つの川が流れ込んでいる沼らしきものがあり、江ノ島は地震により隆起した島であることから、私は事実を元にしているのではないかと考える。
