Kamakura Seaside Park — Attraction in Kamakura

We had a beautiful day swimming in the warm and wavy water. There were some surfers trying to catch waves and lots of families hanging out. The lifeguards and security were diligent and on-task at all times. You definitely need to bring money with you, because you have to pay to use a change room (1800 ¥, which includes a locker) and I definitely recommend renting an umbrella or two they're 1500 yen. Renting chairs is also nice and they were 2000 each. Food was good at the restaurant we went to, but smoking and vaping were permitted in all the restaurants (that I saw). The restaurants are open-air, so that helps, but funnily enough, smoking is not permitted on the beach except in designated areas. Try to buy or bring water, because it's more expensive to purchase at the beach (300¥). Unlike North American beaches, no one was selling t-shirts, hats, flipflops, or toys. You can rent floaties, though. Please note that all the vendors are supposed to offer you the SAME price...

Too crowded during July 24 fireworks... if you do go bring a towel or blanket to sit on. Transportation after the fireworks consists of waiting in very long lines... no taxis... running of the bulls traffic without the bulls. The food stalls on July 24 were plentiful with tons of options. Fireworks included hello kitty and some pokemon. Long show at about 45 minutes... if cloudy day...
