Update March 17, 2025 Unexplained snow storm this week. Felt cold but air is fresh. Hotel is one of the best: service, breakfast selection, clean room & drinks in the room. Dinner menu needs to change: almost the same last two years. I still love this hotel with their great hospitality. Visit this hotel again in May after Golden Week. Hotel still provides the best service and breakfast. If you are a vegetarian, you can enjoy fresh local vegetables in the morning and delicious local yogurt every morning. Lots of free drink in the room that I cannot finish 30%. I only hope they can change dinner menu & happy hours snack. I will come back in fall. May 10th. The hotel offers many services 1 free pick up & drop off from/to station. Please call them or email info@kyukaruizawa-kikyo.com 2 front desk, restaurant staff and drivers are super helpful & friendly. 3 the public bath is not natural hot spring. It can take ~15 to 20 people at the same time. Clean & switch male & female pool daily. 4 breakfast is very good. It is buffet + one main order. They all use location ingredients which is nice. French toast is fantastic. 5 happy hours from 5PM to 7:45PM. Offers local beer, wine and whiskey (Nagano area). Finger food is little weak (nuts + some small things). I ordered one dish or two dishes. Hamburger & fry are average. Beef & rice + steam veggies are excellent (local ingredients). 6 room is huge and excellent shampoo & location + free drinks in the mini bar. I can’t consume all of them ( one bottle of tea + two bottles of water are enough). Coffee is average & should get better beans. Definitely I will come back again.

I am delighted to have spent a wonderful one night here. I would like to express my gratitude for the complimentary shuttle service provided from the hotel to the Karuizawa Station. The vehicle was comfortable, and the drivers were both friendly and professional. Throughout the journey, the drivers maintained constant communication with the hotel regarding the vehicle 's status. Upon arrival at the hotel, there was already someone ready to greet us and assist with our luggages. The level of service reminded me of the butler-style service at The Ritz in London, yet it felt even more like coming home. Whether it was the reception at the front desk or the service staff in the restaurant, everyone was exceptionally warm and friendly, creating a sense of reassurance. The public onsen on B1, despite having only one pool and a sauna room, exuded a cozy and comfortable atmosphere with its wooden design. Even when using it alone, there was no sense of unease. The room was incredibly spacious, and the refrigerator was stocked with various specialty fruit juices and beers from Shinshu, all complimentary. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the view outside the window showcased a serene forest, allowing for a relaxing natural environment even while working in the room. I would like to extend my gratitude once again to all the staff at the hotel for providing such professional and quality service. Thanks to them, we have beautiful memories of our time in Karuizawa.

Well. my review is a bit mixed for this Boutique Hilton location... First good points...centrally located close to main walking street, lobby staff was kind and helpful (to wife in Japanese). Room was clean and an Okay view of a few trees and a courtyard area. Bath was good but only water (filmy) not Onsen.... Bad points...I was surprised to receive a half a head of lettuce as my Ceasar salad (see photos), I ordered a well done burger but it was well burnt and barely cooked inside (maybe the maid cooked it and not a chef, see photo), no pool here and the prices of Spa were a bit much...maybe not a family friendly place. It seems to me this location concentrates on the local golfing tourism, couples and wedding clientele. Maybe other things in winter and summer. The Autumn colors were great but that's about it.

This Hilton Curio Collection hotel in Old Karuizawa is a charming, low-rise resort in a quiet alley. The lighting, blinds, and room interiors can be described as antique and cozy, but on the other hand, they need some modernized renovations for convenience. However, overall service quality met my expectations for a 5-star property. The staff were friendly and helpful, and English communication was generally good. Located near Karuizawa Ginza Street, I could easily access cafes, restaurants, and shops. While Karuizawa Station and Prince Outlet are a short drive away, renting a car or taking a taxi would be recommended to get there. The surrounding forest paths, lined with luxury homes and villas, and the nearby Kumoba Pond provide peaceful walking opportunities after breakfast.

Top notch service! We were honestly blown away at how friendly, welcoming, and professional the service was at our hotel. Be sure to arrange ahead of time for the shuttle to and from the train station. You can also use the shuttle during your stay. We visited in December, which is the off season and the shuttle operated till 9pm and on demand as you needed it. Breakfast was delicious. I wouldn’t miss the carrot-apple juice every morning. As Hilton Diamond, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite overlooking the courtyard. The room was newly updated and large by Japanese hotel standards. Especially the bathroom which had tons of counter space. The hotel is also in a great location! I hope to be back in the summer!

I stayed at this hotel in early January and the overall stay was almost perfect. I had absolutely no problems with the hotel, and in actual fact, the hotel made me feel special and treated like a VIP the entire time. The only problem I had was with the area of the hotel. It turns out early January is considered low season, so many of the shops and restaurants were closed, leaving me with limited food options. The hotel also had a free shuttle service between the hotel and Karuizawa station and I used that multiple times during my stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely consider returning if I'm ever in Japan during Spring or Autumn. Thanks for making my stay so relaxing and happy.
