We had lunch here while walking along Philosophers Path. The place is quite cramped (we had backpacks for cameras, jacket, water, etc.), but the Soba and Udon is very good! One of the best noodles I've tried in Kyoto and is reasonably priced. The taste and texture of the tempura is also good. The place is family run, they have limited English, but they have English menu (I don't speak any Japanese). I would definitely come back again when I'm in Kyoto.

Stumbled across this while walking down the Philosopher's path from Mt Daimonji. A small restaurant with limited seating but cycles quickly. The food was delicious and just what we needed after a long hike this morning.

Stumbled upon this place while searching for food in the middle of walking the philosopher's path some months back in November 2019. What a great find. Very good soba, good portions. Highly recommended!

Perfect way to satisfy your appetite. Some of the better soba I’ve had so far. Tempura was also good. Not cheap but reasonably priced. The place had a good relaxed atmosphere.

Soba with 2 different dipping sauce, very nice! I personally love the sauce with egg inside, smooth and rich with egg flavour.

星2.5です。お店の雰囲気で＋0.5かなぁ。 駐車スペースはありません。 近くにコインパーキングがあります。 昔ながらの京町家風の建物のため、間口が狭く奥行きのある店舗です。 間口の長さで税を徴収していた名残です。 お店は人のよさそうな老夫婦が切り盛りされているようです。 善くも悪くも昔ながらの店屋物のお店という感じです。 席数は奥行きのある店内のため結構多くあります。 居心地は、京都で生まれ育った私には心地良い空気が漂っていました。 天ぷらの載ったおろしそばをオーダーしました。 そばは店屋物のお店にありがちな麺でした。 そば粉の割合はそれほど多くは感じられませんでした。 天ぷらもちょっと油の残る揚げ方だったのが残念でした。 街中にあるうどん屋さんでした。 関西では蕎麦専門店以外はうどん屋さんと呼びます。 関東と逆ですね。
