JR Gate Tower — Attraction in Nagoya

We like the stores in the JR Gate Tower. We even bought a lot of things in this mall. However, we find it quite unpleasant that the Tax refund counter of the mall charges 1.55% of the total tax refund to travelers from abroad. We find that a rather predatory practice and a distasteful way for the mall to make money. Either they can eliminate the tax refund counter or they can have one, why they need to issue refund but keep 1.55%? The mall does not make enough money from their stores renting to their commercial tenants to begin with? The hotel is great! The staff are very attentive and helpful with my request. However, be prepared to bring all your luggage to the room as the hotel don't have the bellboy. The room was so clean and perfectly done the whole time I was there. JR Gate Tower is a high-rise complex built by JR Central in front of Nagoya Station, and opened in April 2017.
