So first off this hotel is not a 4 star hotel, I’m baffled how it qualifies as such. Our stay here was OK but there were a lot of things that let it down and why I wouldn’t recommend people stay here.
The positives are the service is nice and the location of the hotel and its proximity to a lot of tourist areas of Osaka are a definite benefit we got around the city very easily.
Now the negatives, although the location of the hotel to train stations is great the area around the hotel is a bit lacking it’s a bit dirty and depressed. The rooms of the hotel have a weird smell which I think came from the dirty carpet, it smelt mouldy like stale instant ramen. The bathroom smelt badly of drains and wasn’t well cleaned. I found grime and dirt around the sink area. The bathroom would also get extremely hot when showering.
Rooms are only cleaned once every three days and it shows, I’m not sure why this is but when you’re hotel room is so small it gets dirty a lot quicker.
There were paint marks on the curtains no idea why as the paint was white but the room was not…
For some reason all the rooms are a twin set, I would suggest that the hotel remove the pointless piece of wood that separates the twin beds and push the beds together to create doubles, this would utilise the tiny amount of room space a lot better, the door to bathroom would work better as a sliding door rather than a door that opens out on to a tiny room.
There was no international TV channels only a few Japanese channels which was a bit of a...
Read moreTL;DR - Great location, close to metro and shops. However, over 10 cockroaches found in room over 2 nights (pictures included), unclear if something will be done about it. Most likely a cockroach infestation as the washroom had an unpleasant musky smell. Book this hotel at your own risk!||Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in early October. Stayed in our cockroach infested room (on a lower floor) for a night as the hotel was fully booked. We were able to switch rooms on the second night to a much higher floor. ||Cons: |- The obvious, the cockroaches we found in our room. Killed at least 7 the first night we stayed. We were not able to switch rooms the first night. Had to sleep with the light on during the night, which was extremely uncomfortable. |- When we spoke with the hotel manager regarding the cockroach infestation issue, he apologized. He offered us breakfast and when we declined the hotel then offered us bottles of water, facemasks, and skincare samples. ||Pros:|- Steps away from Shinsekai, shops, metro - very convenient. The Mega Don Quijote closeby was amazing. |- Hotel staff were friendly - when we complained about the cockroach issue the first night they did give us roach spray and also came into our room to check out the issue. On our second night we were able to switch rooms to a higher floor after talking to the staff.|- Free coffee/tea in the lounge area for guests to use.|- Rooms are updated and modern, beds are quite comfy. |- There are laundry machines...
