I can't really fault the place. I saw lots of great reviews annd almost got hung up on the few negative reviews. I am glad I ignored them. I stayed 6 nights and it was fine. The room is small however by japan standards it is actually big. All the staff were friendly and all the ones I spoke to spoke english reasonably. The room was spotless and I used the bath tub everyday as it was so clean. Bed and bedding was all soft and comfy. No room service that I saw but there is a convenience store on the corner nearby and a plethora of japanese restaurants as unbeknown to me this hotel is right beside a major tourist area shinsekai. If you are not comfortable with the japanese there is a maccas 100m away. As for location I walked from namba station with my bags from the airport train but in actual fact there are dobutsuen-mae and shin-imamiya stations very close to the hotel. In future I would just get a short train from namba to there perhaps. As for the breakfast you can order it for 1500 yen in the morning. No need to prebook it. The coffee is not great. Breakfast is varied but not great either. They have a station downstairs where you can grab toothbrush, tea and those kinds of things. The room has a kettle and cups. The curtains are sealed shut for some reason so to get any sunlight into the room you need to get creative with them. The one small negative was the night before checkout asking to pay the 1000 yen fee for an extra hour of checkout time. Ok but I asked for a reciept or some kind of acknowledgement to have but they can't provide it. Sure enough the next morning at 11am I get a call telling me it is checkout time and I have to explain the situation. It was ok but this could easily become an issue and a small paper to acknowledge your payment and agreement would be helpful to avoid conflicts. Also don't visit the Zoo nearby. It...
Read moreDear General Manager,
I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share some feedback about our recent stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a rough time.
We asked for a check-out because we were still getting organized with our rental car and weren't familiar. We ended up being a little late leaving the room, and we apologized to the staff for the delay. However, when we tried to check out, we were told we were 20 minutes late and that the housekeeping team couldn't clean our room. We understood it was our fault, so I asked about any extra charges for the late check-out. But the person at the front desk (MEN, may be “Umeda”) kept pointing at the time and telling us we were late multiple times and said TERRIBLE with aggressive eyes. It made us feel really small and disrespected. It's okay to remind us once, but repeating it over and over felt unnecessary. There may have been a language barrier. Personally, my English is not very good, but I believe that the words used should convey respect and understanding, which should be a foundational aspect of staff training.
I kindly urge you to consider addressing this matter with your staff to ensure that future guests are treated with the warmth and professionalism they deserve. Small gestures and friendly communication can significantly enhance the guest experience. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We sincerely hope that our feedback contributes to the ongoing improvement of your services.
