We've known this restaurant since the year 2008. Our family always fly to Osaka for vacation at least 3-5 times a year before covid and we always go to this restaurant because we love Sushi and it always one of the best reasonable price Sushi in town that easy to go.
We haven't visit Japan for years during covid and this trip made us so disappointed with this restaurant, Many staff in the restaurant were not Japanese and the smell from that staff's body odor were quite really strongly worst we've ever met. It made us feel uncomfortable to sit and eat like everytimes we have. Our children said they feel like to vomit everytime 2 of the foreign staff that look after that area come nearby.
We conclude to leave to continue our dinner at other restaurant but there were problem with their dish electronic counter and the foreign staff couldn't solve it and still try to use it for 10-15 minutes without trying to change the equipment or find out other solution until we had to ask her to count its by hand but she looked numb and continue used it until we felt no more patient and ask her to find other solution then other staff notice this abnormal and came to see but the foreign staff telling other staff that there weren't any problem and then she started count it by hand. One of our children felt nauseated and I had to bring her out to vomid during my wife went to pay for the bill. However, the quality of the food still good but the price goes quite high. No more reasonable price...
Read moreThis restaurant is a rotary/conveyor belt sushi restaurant located on the busy Dotonbori street in Osaka. It's probably best to try visiting during off peak hours if you dont want to wait in line to get in. That being said, we got here around 2pm & we were able to walk straight in. I wouldn't recommend this place for big parties, like more than 4 people, unless you have no problem sitting apart from each other. We were able to sit along side the conveyor right in front where one of the chefs was rolling the sushi so it was an extra fun experience to see & we also got to the freshest pieces first. They offer a good selection on the conveyor belt & you are also able to custom order anything you want on the menu. The selection was good & typical of any good sushi place. We had salmon, tuna, shrimp, eel, octopus, uni, crab & other pieces I can't remember but they all tasted fresh. The staff was pretty attentive. We ordered a side bowl of fried octopus. It was served pretty quickly & was hot & delicious! There are little spouts in front of you where you can get hot water & mix yourself some green tea with the green tea matcha powder available at each place setting. We felt like the prices were phenomenal. What we ate ended up costing us less than $40 here & we normally pay more than $100 for the same amount of plates where we...
Read moreMy first visit to Osaka, it was pouring rain, and we found ourselves in Daiki. I think I'll make Daiki a tradition of being the first meal in Osaka moving forward
Daiki Service: Immediately upon entry, they gave us a plastic bag to put our soaked newly purchased umbrellas in. We were seated immediately and off to the conveyor belt races.
Daiki conveyor belt sushi: Sushi plates vary in price from 100 to 500 Yen. The sushi quality is on the higher end of conveyor belt/high volume sushi. The cuts are thick and the sushi to rice ratio leans more on the sushi side which I appreciate. Daiki is in now my top 3 of all time currently. sigh too bad they're in Osaka. My favorites that aren't so common in the US: Salmon & Cheese, Shrimp & Mayo, and creamed corn. They have a good variety of nigire to choose from which encourages fun ordering
Daiki Ambiance: The conveyor belt dining area is clean, well lit and there is plenty of seating space. The dining tables have plenty of room, you won't feel cramped.
I understand the popularity of Daiki as they provide an excellent conveyor belt sushi experience. The pricing is reasonable to give you good value for a entertaining dining experience. I look forward to visiting Daiki/Osaka sooner versus...
