The OneFive Osaka Namba Dotonbori: A Nightmare Stay – Don’t Book Here!
If you’re looking for a hotel that will completely ruin your trip to Osaka, look no further than The OneFive Osaka Namba Dotonbori. From the moment you step into this so-called “hotel,” you’ll realize you’ve made a huge mistake. Here’s why you should absolutely AVOID booking a stay here.
The Location is a Disaster
This hotel is right in the heart of Osaka’s red-light district, meaning you’re constantly surrounded by overwhelming crowds, tourists, and prostitutes (both male and female). The noise levels are unbearable—you can hear people shouting, partying, drunkenly laughing, and screaming all night long, even from inside your room. If you actually want to sleep, forget about it!
Entering the Hotel is a Struggle
The hotel has a card system at the entrance, and guess what? It barely works! You’ll find yourself repeatedly trying to insert the card while standing outside until some random tourist inside takes pity on you and opens the door. The reception staff? Completely indifferent. They’ll just sit there watching you struggle, refusing to help.
No Place to Sit or Relax in the Lobby
If you arrive early or need a place to rest while waiting, too bad—there are NO seats, NO tables, and NO lounge area. You’ll be stuck standing around like an idiot with your luggage.
No Breakfast, No Restaurant, Nothing!
This hotel doesn’t even have a restaurant, so forget about breakfast or grabbing a quick meal. You’ll need to go outside and fight through the chaotic streets every morning just to get a cup of coffee.
No Basic Amenities
There are no coffee condiments, no tea, no complimentary drinks—NOTHING! The only water you get? Tap water straight from the faucet! Imagine paying for a hotel stay and not even getting a bottle of water.
Housekeeping is a Joke
If you’re expecting your room to be cleaned daily, think again. Housekeeping doesn’t clean your room unless you hunt them down (and good luck if they even understand you). When they do clean, it’s a half-hearted job—the toilet stinks, the beds are barely made, and it feels like they just walked in and left.
The Toilet is an Absolute Nightmare
This is the worst part. The toilet bowl machine is practically useless. If you try to use the bidet, be prepared to wait at least 5 minutes before water comes out—IF it even works at all! If you’re in a hurry? Better find a dipper because you’ll need to wash yourself manually!
The Most Ridiculous Check-Out Policy Ever
Unlike most hotels that allow late check-out, this one forces you out at 10 AM sharp! No extensions, no exceptions. And if you’re late? There’s an old lady stationed there whose sole job is to yell at you and tell you to GET OUT. So much for hospitality.
Elevator Card Slot is Always Jammed
Even getting to your room is a hassle. The card slot for selecting your floor in the elevator is always malfunctioning, so prepare to waste time just trying to get to your room.
Unfriendly, Unhelpful Staff
The receptionists are some of the rudest hotel staff you’ll ever encounter. They don’t care about your concerns, they barely acknowledge guests, and they make zero effort to help with any issues.
Final Verdict: STAY FAR AWAY!
This isn’t just a bad hotel—it’s one of the worst in Osaka. It’s loud, dirty, poorly managed, and lacks even the most basic services. If you want a miserable experience where everything from the location to the toilet will frustrate you, then go ahead and book. Otherwise, save yourself the regret and stay somewhere else.
⭐ FINAL RATING: 0/10 – WORST HOTEL...
Read moreStaying at the OneFive Hotel was an absolute nightmare in terms of the rooms. Before going into the many issues, the pros of this hotel is ONLY the friendly front desk staff. Managers not so much. We were supposed to stay here for 5 nights but only stayed 4 due to leaving early cause we had enough staying on this property. Our first room we checked into the the bed closest to the window under the AC was DRIPPING water throughout the night onto the bed + Dripping near an ELECTRIC outlet. Major safety concern. From there we brought up this issue and first they changed us into a SMALLER room then what we had. They claimed that this was the only available room then after 5mins of refusing they “magically “ found one another room available that was same size as our original room. Everything goes fine then that night in the our new room, the same problem occurred of water dripping near an electrical outlet beside the bed. This was no longer an inconvenience but clearly a hotel safety Issue. From there bringing this up to a hotel manager, he seemed to not care at all of this giant safety hazard. Did not even bother to upgrade our room not bring up any compensation ideas after clearly stating that would be sufficient on our end. Had to contact Expedia to contact the hotel staff to finalize a refund of 3 nights out of our 5. Manager then told us had to leave and could not stay our final night if we continued with this refund. During our stay there was a huge fire on the Osaka Namba strip literally 1 minute down from the hotel on Monday, August 19th. Unfortunately it killed 2 firefighters that underwent taking out the fire. Giving the circumstances of the events that happened a day before, us bringing the attention of water dripping near a electric outlet in MULTIPLE rooms as a huge safety hazard. Manager seemed like he did not care for the guests and their well being and safety at the hotel and did not bother to accommodate us when we were feeling unsafe in multiple rooms after being switched. Power in the room as well was constantly shutting on and off causing the washroom lights and AC to turn on/off throughout the night. Washrooms were not cleaned properly as 2/3 rooms that we got switched into had residue stuck in the toilet bowls. Washrooms had a weird stain inside the bathtubs and windows were filthy and stained. Other then the friendly front desk staff ( not including the manager that hides in the back ) this hotel was an absolute disaster to stay at and would give it 0 STARS...

The Location the best
This hotel is right in the heart of Osaka’s - Dotonbori. Which a perfect place to stay , every thing is so close . All the restaurants, bars , shopping places , everything is just few min walk.
Entering the Hotel is fine
The hotel has a card system at the entrance, and in the day you can enter without needing a card . In the night you need a card to enter but there’s no problem in that . The card works absolutely fine. The first door open without any card and then you need card for the second door. So I don’t think there’s any chance you can be harassed by anyone as you’re in a close space.
No Place to Sit or Relax in the Lobby
Yes most of the hotels don’t have it Dubai . I stayed in 5 different hotel only 2 of them have it .
No Breakfast, No Restaurant, Nothing!
Yes it’s same with most of the hotel in Japan , they don’t. So it’s a normal thigh
Basic Amenities
They have luggage room, they provide all toiletries. I think that’s enough
Housekeeping was fine
I stayed there for five days , they use to give provide towels every day without even asking . They cleaned the room once which is their policy.
Toilet were absolutely fine
In general the toilets are very nice in Japan , they have this heating system and a big panel of buttons, which is so nice . The water pressure in the bathtub was very good.
Check out policy of 10am is common they don’t have anything different.
Elevator Card Slot worked properly.
They have 3 elevator which are fine
Staff
The receptionists are fine , just doing there job.
Final Verdict: STAY, location is perfect
I booked it after reading all the bad reviews but thankfully they were wrong and I had a pleasant stay.
