I don’t usually write reviews, but what just happened in Dotonbori deserves to be etched in digital stone forever.

I took one bite of the takoyaki and had to sit down. Not because I was tired — no, because my soul momentarily left my body and floated above Osaka in pure bliss. The flavors? Insane. Crispy on the outside, creamy and rich on the inside, the octopus perfectly cooked — tender, not rubbery. And the sauce? I wanted to bottle it and wear it as cologne.

I looked up mid-bite and locked eyes with the barlady. She saw my expression and just nodded, like, “Yes. You understand now.” We didn’t speak — we didn’t need to. This food was speaking louder than words.

I told her, “This is dangerously good.” She blinked once. Then twice. Then said, “I know.” And walked away slowly — probably to warn the kitchen they just changed someone’s life.

Ultimate scam. Way overpriced with the lowest possible quality. 4,000 yen for 5 pieces of tempura - for this price, we had expectations worthy of such expensive food. Turns out they were bad. The crab stick tempura was literally just flour, no fish paste at all. The texture of the scallops tempura was also just flour and not scallops. Cheap food sold at exhorbitant prices. We were recommended by the Osaka Wonder Cruise guide which was probably in cahoots with this scam low quality restaurant.
