Diaso is a chain of of stores in Tokyo (something like Dollar stores in US). Every item in these is for 100 yen +8% tax, unless there is a price tag for higher amount on any item. Sometimes it's difficult to believe that it's only for 100 yen!
This one at Harajuku is one of best Daiso stores in Tokyo..atleast of those that I visited ..and from what I read on Google too.
It's very near to Meiji-jignumae (Harajuku) metro station on Tokyo Metropolitan line and also close to Harajuku Station on Yamanote line. It's located on the very lively and happening 'Takeshita street'.
It has three floors. You will find souvenirs like Japanese dolls, fridge magnets, bags, Japanese paper fans etc on first floor. Second floor is mostly cosmetics, stationery etc. And on top floor, you have soft toys, nice cups and crockery and lot of interesting kitchen and home store. Don't miss the top floor. I got some really cute soft toys of excellent quality from here..each for ¥ 500. I am uploading pics of these.
Don't miss out on the famous Lululun facepacks in the basement floor... Though that's a separate store called Big Camera and so billing is separate... You will easily find these face packs in number of other stores.. but easier to buy once you are already here...
I was so busy picking up stuff that I forgot to click pics... do look up online for store pics

Read moreThis was the worst 100 yen store(aka $1 store for us Americans) I encountered in Japan. It's true that it's one of the biggest, if not the biggest. However, the quality of goods sold here is no where near as good as Cando's. I ended up only buying some drinks, which ended up tasting very artificially sweet.
It is crowded because it's on Takeshita Street, so everyone visiting the famous Harajuku area is going to pass by and probably stop in. There are several levels separated by categories of products like home goods, cosmetics & food & miscellaneous crap, and my least favorite- stationery.
The stationery was so cheesy-looking and even worse than the quality of a Party City in the States. I felt that there was no need to even have a whole floor dedicated to the lot of tacky decorations. They could have expanded their cosmetics and electronics section more. It would have made more sense considering the neighborhood it is in.
Overall, don't spend too much of your dollar dollar bills here. If you don't find another 100 yen store, splurge a little at the 300 or 400 yen stores to get better products. Or just forego the Daisos in...
Read moreI don't know why people say this is that BIG DAISO in japan. It was literally a regular daiso but it was seperated in 3 floors. So much smaller than i expected, plusss it was hot in there i was dying lol. I went all this way to check this Daiso out as I was super excited to see lots of stationary and toys, I tell you there were nothing more or less. Stationary section was a joke but there were a few toys like bubble gun or trains block toys and stuff. Maybe only kitchen goods were more than other Daisos I've visited. Unfortunately even with the fact that I checked it out in YouTube it wasn't clear how big it was. It was not. I expected this to be at least 5 times bigger. But it wasn't bad....
