This place deserves all the hype!
When I walked into this place, I quickly realised it's mecca of cosmetics and skincare. But since the store was incredibly busy and everything is in Japanese, I felt overwhelmed. I thought to myself that I might be walking out with little to nothing. I then asked a member of staff for assistance but since she didn't speak English she found me someone who did.
The new sales assistant didn't speak great English, barely, in fact but she went above and beyond to help me shop! I informed her that I'm sensitive to products with alcohol and she would go on to check ingredient list of all products one by one to find me just the right one. If she couldn't tell by looking at the packaging, she would google or check on the brand's website! She helped me check all the things off my shopping list. I wish I remembered her name so I could mention her here.
What a splendid experience! I'm back in London now and I'm delighted by everything she helped me pick out. All items are 5*. Cosme is must visit when in Tokyo!
Note, they have mobile charging stations on the first floor. Chances are, you will lose track of time here and realise your battery to...
Read moreThe store is AMAZING! Be careful, cause you'll lose track of time when you're there, I swear. Tips that where working when I went there (March 2025): Donwload the app to get a discount on your first use. And if you buy a certain amount (I think over 12K) you'll also get free samples. And of course, if you're a foreigner, don't forget your passport so you can shop tax free! But there's a catch: they'll seal your purchase and you'll only be able to open it without risk of paying a fee for it after you leave the country. So, it's best to leave the shopping part for the last days of your trip, cause you can't use the products anyway. If you're clueless about skincare just like me, go to the best selling part of the store and they'll have the top 5 best sellers of ALL categories which is REALLY helpful! On the higher floors they have a cleaning station where you can actually try on the cleasing products (yes, there's several SINKS in the middle of the store). And if you're looking for mask sheets, there's a whole section with all of them, sorted by brand: it's...

It’s 2 retail floors jam packed wall to wall with cosmetics, skincare, and hair care ranging from high end to more drug store.
My recommendation is go there with a bit of a plan on products since everything is mainly in Japanese. You can also leverage the rating system at Cosme (1 being the more sought after product and 5 being on the other end) - these top items will be located on the famous Cosme wall on the first floor or the back wall on the 2nd.
Overall budget at least 90 minutes because of the crowds.
Something I didn’t pay attention to but should have, a lot of the “drugstore” brands are also located at Don Quijote so you can always try there first.
Once you purchase, show your passport at checkout so you can save on taxes. When you do they’ll put everything in these clear bags. Tip, bring your own bag because the clear ones don’t have handles. You don’t want to be me walking the streets carrying them.
I’ve already started use some of the products and...
