Harajuku Chicago Shimokitazawa — Attraction in Tokyo

I actually like this store and have bought a few things from here but an interaction I had today at their store rubbed me the wrong way: today was very windy and I noticed Some of their display racks had fallen over outside so I told them in English using gestures. They did not say thank you or seem appreciative that I did this because I really could’ve just said nothing and let their Merchandise blow away in the wind. I ended buying some pants this same day and as I was walking out with my shopping bag the worker (blond hair Japanese guy) didn’t even say thanks for your purchase. Chicago is the kind of thrift store where you walk in planning to “just browse” & walk out with something that makes you feel like you’ve won a prize. The racks go deep: Levi’s, Hawaiian shirts, military jackets, sports jerseys, you name it. It’s organized enough to not feel overwhelming, but still messy enough to feel like a proper treasure hunt.

I scored a vintage MLB jersey here...in my size, at a shockingly low price. That’s basically the thrift store trifecta: rare, wearable, & affordable. Around the store you’ll also find bins of pins, patches & bandanas if you’re the kind of person who likes flair with your fashion.

This is one of my go-to places in Shimokita for some throwback 90s street wears. They usually stock a ton of old school NBA related brands like Starters and FILAs. They often have a discount vintage clothing out front of the store that I have found some super cool items in the past. Definitely on the more feasible side in terms of pricing, compared to most used clothing shops in the are. I always make sure to stop by this place before settling on any pieces of clothing I might find at other stores just to make sure they don’t have anything similar...
