Really cool shrine! There’s lots of different things to see. The main shrine is to Hachiman, but there’s also some smaller shrines on the premises: one to Koga-Inari, one to Amaterasu, and one to Shogi (Japanese chess). There’s also a cool replica of Mt. Fuji you can climb. It doesn’t have any stairs though, just rocks. It’s a bit difficult to climb because of that, and there’s no guide rails, just some rope you can hold onto. There’s a few small shrines built on the mountain too, like one of a small Buddha, and the one at the top, which I believe is for Konohanasakuya-hime since she’s the goddess of Mt. Fuji. The goshuin are really pretty! There’s one for the main shrine and one for the Mt. Fuji replica. Both are ¥500. You can also get lots of o-mamori, maneki-neko, daruma, and omikuji you can buy. The priests and shrine maidens were all really nice!

Beautiful Shinto Shrine located near Sendagaya station. Maybe 10min walk, or less. It has a cute little bamboo forest and a little version of the Fuji mountain, a little hill you can climb up. The atmosphere is very nice and the Shrine very well maintained. I strongly recommend visitors to stop there and have a look =) Hachiman is one of the many gods in Shintoism, it is known as the God of War. The place seemed pretty peaceful to me though.

【棋師が必勝祈願する鳩森八幡神社】 東京都渋谷区千駄ケ谷、将棋会館と道を挟んだ隣に鎮座する八幡さまです⛩ 鳥居は「明神鳥居」八幡宮の総本社宇佐神宮と一緒ですね。 由緒からすると860年に八幡神を勧請したとあるので八幡神社としてのはじまりは平安時代である。 しかし、それ以前にこの土地には鳩森という名前の通り、鳩が住んでいたと推察できます。 それは何故か？由緒から紐解いていきましょう！ 由緒より↓ ↓ ↓ 大昔、此の地の林の中にはめでたいことが起こる前兆の瑞雲（ずいうん）がたびたび現れ、ある日青空より白雲が降りてきたので不思議に思った村人が林の中に入っていくと、突然白鳩が数多、西に向かって飛び去った。この霊瑞（れいずい）に依り神様が宿る小さな祠（ほこら）を営みんで鳩森『はとのもり』と名付けた。 引用終わり “瑞雲とは、めでたい兆しとして現れる、紫や五色の珍しい雲のことです“ 俯瞰的に見ると白い鳩（とり）が住んでいて何らかの理由により西に行ってしまったと読み取ることができる… 大昔では“白“とは光り輝く事を意味しており、これには財産、資産なども意味も含まれます。 鳩とは動物の“とり“や“はと“のことではなく、“奪われる“ことの奪り（とり）の騙りを表していることが多い。 全てをつなげて考えると「この林（森）には原住民が住んでいたが財産を奪われて西へ追い出されてしまった。そこに八幡神を勧請した」のであろう! 現地に行ってみるとよく分かるがたくさん資産を持ってそうである。 奪った財産とは「土地」なのではないかな… さて、誰に奪われたのか？ 現在は菊紋の神紋が掲げてあり朝廷に属する神社であることは明白である。 たくさん資産のある神社なのも分かる。 さて、誰に奪われたのか？
