I was in Tokyo on vacation and I visited their salon last week for a treatment (which I booked 2-3 months in advance as they currently have limited appointment availability), and was super pleased with my experience! Yuki was my spa-ist and despite the language barrier on my end, she was very kind and professional. Although I also unfortunately was a bit late to my appointment, I never felt rushed by her and was touched at how she continued to take her time with my treatment. She regularly checked in to gauge my comfort level and explained what she was doing. As someone who ironically avoids physical touch (but loves ASMR Twix and the YouTube channel and wanted to try the head spa experience), I felt at ease the entire time--especially as I've watched their YouTube videos and had a general idea of what to expect. Ultimately, Yuki was super sweet and frankly made me feel like a princess, ahah, and it was surreal sitting in that room especially as an ASMR Twix fan. From beginning to end, the attention to detail in my experience was incredible (e.g., included drink menu, form to share my hair concerns and touch preferences, prepared dressing gown, Yuki offering to take my picture and having a translation device on-hand, choice of scented oils, mini hair styling at the end). I definitely recommend this experience especially for first-timers. For those overseas with upcoming Japan trips, please keep a close eye on their website/social media for appointment releases and know that your booking should be timed months in advance due to popularity. Additionally, the spa site is located close to a nearby train station and the building is very discreet with a sign postage of the building's businesses by the elevator. Whenever I visit Japan again, I'm definitely planning to make another appointment! Thank you to Yuki and the overall ASMR Twix team for such a...
Read moreI have been an avid fan of ASMR Twix on YouTube for years. I counted down the days until it was time to book appointments and was so lucky to be able to book a Bucket List 3-Hour experience on one of my last days in Tokyo. The salon was very close to the Kita-sando Station and easy to find with the help of videos that Twix had posted on her Instagram. I got to the salon early and was happy to wait in the shade of the stairwell until 3 minutes before my appointment time for the elevator to allow access to the 8th floor.
Upon arriving, Yuki led me to the spa room and I was greeted by the lovely aromas of essential oils. I'm not sensitive to smells, but if you are sensitive and get headaches easily, keep that in mind! The room smelled wonderful, and the consultation chair and slippers that were provided were incredibly comfortable. While the dresses are not my style, I chose the blue dress and it was very cozy, not itchy at all.
Yuki was so kind, thoughtful, and thorough. I asked for firm pressure and get cold quite easily, and Yuki was quick to make adjustments to the room temperature and give me an extra blanket when I got cold mid-way through the hair treatment. It felt like every time I thought we were finished, there was one more massage! My hair is also very difficult from being bleached and damaged by heat, and Yuki was so gentle with my hair and even styled it for me, which isn't always guaranteed after a wet head spa.
Everything about the experience was so dreamy, rejuvenating, and so so special. I would highly recommend taking the time to get your head spa near the end of your trip. Thank you, Yuki for such a wonderful experience! I can't wait to come again and share this with...
Read moreI booked and paid in full for Ultimate Bucket List Experience four months in advance, securing a spot way before the autumn dates were officially released due to the high demand for this service. This was meant to be a special experience for my first and probably only trip to Tokyo, coming from west Europe and planning around it.
Unfortunately, the communication and service from this business were highly unprofessional. Despite my advanced planning and booking, my appointment was canceled due to a "staffing issue" about a month before my appointment date. A frustrating series of back-and-forth emails followed, during which I received confusing and contradictory booking times and dates that were a week after my original booking date - do you think it's fair to be asking for availability on a different week knowing I'm not local? Staff offered a slot on my desired date in second location although it wasn't the menu I was interested with and not the same as the one I paid for. One would think that paying upfront is a sealed deal and frankly as much as I understand resource allocation is difficult when I PAY for something I expect to receive it. When they offered to book me into an alternative head spa as a solution, they failed to follow through on their own proposal, forcing me to secure my own booking elsewhere.
While the online brand is polished and looks high-end, the real-world professionalism is disorganized, disappointing and less than ideal to put it lightly. Booking and paying months in advance doesn't even secure a spot - the website fails to inform about that. This gives very poor image of the quality of the services given and makes me doubt all the...
