Kankoku Hiroba (Korea Plaza) — Attraction in Tokyo

This is your typical Korean supermarket. I want to get some Korean soybean paste and lettuce to wrap the beef in. And also some sliced green onions. I saw they have some Japanese wagyu beef trimming. My thought was that these trimming will be similar to the Japanese supermarket wagyu beef trimming. but I was very wrong. They are really trimming including the tendon and the large fat section of the beef. I did not realize that until I peel off the first layer and saw what they had included. Even though it was on sale, I would never go back and buy similar item from them. Look at the photos that I posted. That much fat is from one tray. And the second tray I had to throw away big chunk of the meat because it looks bad. Can't believe they are selling them. If you want to buy trimed beef, Go to a regular Japanese supermarket You will have less fat less or no tendon and better beef quality. What a fantastic Korean grocery store! We actually stopped here first when we visited Korea Town here in Shinokubo and it was a great way to start! This grocery store seems small (and technically is) but is packed with all types of Korean grocery items. They had a huge selection of dry and cold goods, and even a whole end cap filled with fresh Korean snacks (we opted for mochi). They had a huge cooler filled with soju, other alcohols, and tons of non-alcoholic beverages too. We really enjoyed walking through this store and seeing all of the products we cannot get in the U.S. This is definitely a stop you have to make if you are in the area and really want to see some great...

Good Korean store for the basics and cheap vegetables (where else am I going to find a lemon for under 80yen?). Plentiful meat and frozen section, and a very small selection of grab n go prepared items (김밥, 송편♡, 무지개떡♡). Good for regular shopping, away from the tourist crowds supermarkets nearer to Shin Okubo attract.
