I came here for a short stay in Japan and was pleasantly surprised. There are few things that stood out during my stay - and also from some negative reviews I saw. So, I'll help make the decision easy for you based on what I saw in my recent stay.
The rooms are small, but functional. You can fit your luggage under the bed. They provide everything you need to rest, wash, and prepare for your day. These rooms are too small to hang out in and lounge in - go outside for that.
The prices are very fair given the high quality rooms. I saw very bad reviews about other hotels nearby that cost the same price. You are basically paying for the location.
They provide all the amenities you need, from tooth brushes to body sponges, a hair dryer, a fridge, and even room slippers.
The room was very clean. I found a few hairs on the shower wall, but I understand that can be easy to miss.
The reception is standard. I noticed check-in/out is manual at this location. While it's automated at the Tower location.
The location is a bit of a walk from the Shin-okubo station and about 10 minutes away from the main nightlife strips. There is another one, the Hisogashi station, nearby, but that stop only works for outbound travel.
Note that the small size rooms make them best for solo or couple travelers. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families or kids.
Also, the reception didn't speak any English. But that fairly common in Japan, so it's not a big strike.
Finally, the room prices were cheapest on their direct website. All other agency websites charged higher prices as well as taxes and fees.
Overall, I had a good stay with no problems at all. This is definitely a 3-star hotel experience. I...
Read moreThe room not clean they gave 1 elevator for 12 floors they dont have any sofa or chairs for people waiting for check in. Read more!! Housekeeping STEALS !!
Beware of house keeping, they will steal your valuables. After checking out of our room on 24/6/24 an iPad was left in the room. Unfortunately we were boarding a flight and could not call the hotel. We activated lost mode at 11:00 and we received an email that the iPad was still in the hotel. The iPad now has a lost message displayed on the screen instructing the finder to contact me.
A few hours later (~13:00), the iPad was removed from the hotel by housekeeping and moved to another location (20-7, Fujimicho, Itabashi, Tokyo, Japan 174-0062)
APA hotel front desk is unwilling to help. Front desk and housekeeping claim nothing was found even though Find My Device locator proves it was in the hotel then later moved to a location during cleaning times.
After researching, other people have reported APA hotel chain housekeeping to notoriously remove valuables from their rooms.
The rooms are cheap, but they are extremely small and are not kept well. This APA does not have the same amenities as other APA like onsen and laundry. The location is very confusing to find.
Do...
