The attitude of the staff OBI and TOGUCHI from Shinjuku Kabukicho are super rude and dismissive, I have never met anyone in Japan horrible like them. I checked-in at 8:30 pm, I was shocked about 1/4 of the room is not accessible due to the shape of the room and the bed’s position. I gonna rush to a shop which close at 9pm, I have no time to ask about that and it’s too late when I get back to the hotel. Since the check-out time is 10am, so I just go back and get some rest. As I have been staying at this hotel quite a few time, and planning to stay again due to the location of the hotel, so I think I have to make things clearly. Next day morning, while I’m enquiring the lobby staff OBI about that, she was so arrogant and kept rolling her eyes, her face was pissing me off while saying my room type is economy single, the fare difference is ¥500 with normal single, I shouldn’t have any question about that. Seems like ¥500 could buy the whole world and actually I just checked online, it is ¥300 difference for member. I don’t think there’s anyone would care about ¥500 and no one knows 1/4 of the room is inaccessible since this is not mentioned on the website. I even asked her why she’s so angry and showing me a scowl, she still continue to roll her eyes. I told her actually I was not asking for any compensation or whatever, I was just suggesting them they should mention on the website or at check-in about this joke, unfortunately a guy without uniform and name badge came out, stated himself manager, shouted again and again my room is a economy room. I was wondering did they ever listened to my concern? The male manager TOGUCHI called the police, without any violence happened, just like a kid without solving ability yelling at teacher in kindergarten. I just knew that the Japanese police force is affiliated with Toyoko-inn? Since time is already 9:30am and the staff asked me to check-out at 10am. So I have no time to wait the police, I have to go back to my room to pack my stuffs and promised I will get back to lobby at 10am. Who knows the 2 staffs bring the police to my room and forced me to open door. The most ridiculous thing is that the police told me there’s nothing to do with this situation. What??? The staff called the police not me, why come to my room to harass me because of the senseless of the staff. This is what a waste of police power, and it may also affect people who really need help! These 2 staffs of Toyoko-inn are such abruptness, self-oriented, they really ruined my day in Tokyo and broke the image of Japan. This is no longer only service issue, a staff or a manger who don’t even have the ability to solve such a small problem, are they qualified to be at the front desk? Ps. WiFi is not working in this room, probably because it’s the last room in the corridor. Sound insulation is not good, I heard snoring from the next room.

I stayed in this hotel many time, since 2015... but the hotel is getting more and more dirty! Other than that, the cleaning staff forgot to close the window after the room cleaning, the trash bin was put on the desk, the trash was on the floor when I checked in... etc.! Very disappointed about the service, the slogan of this hotel is Clean, Safe and Cheap! I remember the first time I stayed in this hotel, which was really clean, but these two year, it’s getting worse and worse. The cleanness is totally not acceptable.Even I had flagged this to the staffs but it’s no improvement. I think it is because Toyoko inn is not hiring Japanese cleaner but the labor from other countries. I am very disappointed.

I stayed in several Toyoko Inn hotels and they all offer the same quality of service. The staff is nice, the rooms are similar to those of the other hotels of the chain (and their size is not bad). The hotel is technically very close to Shinjuku station, but you can walk the distance in around 20 minutes. It'll be a bit challenging though with heavy luggage since there are a few slopes on the way. It's at the heart of the red district, Kabukicho, but it's still safe and quiet. One of my favorite things at the Toyoko INN hotels in general is the breakfast. Here it was not as great as the others I have been to, but still a good breakfast. All in all a good experience.
