If you’re looking for a smart, clean and ‘adequately’ spacious room in Tokyo, REMM at Roppongi is a good choice. What made it great for me was the inclusion of a massage chair that really helped me relax and unwind after a day walking around the streets. It was a nice touch and gave the hotel an added bonus. Generally the hotel is in a good central location in Roppongi so it was easy arriving from the airport on public transport with luggage and locating. The room was an adequate size and for Tokyo even felt a little spacious, compared to other Tokyo hotels. The hotel room is modern, stylish and clean and has everything you need including additional cables for charging devices. The hotel staff are courteous and efficient and helpful with requests. The breakfast was another bonus that really made the trip enjoyable as the food was of a good quality and there was a nice variety between Japanese and western to make the breakfasts enjoyable and not seem boring after a few days. I did look forward to the breakfast and that’s a compliment for all the great food choices available around the area. In terms of location, Roppongi is a great place to be located if you’re looking for a place to get away from the crowds of Tokyo and still have a neighbourhood with a lot of character and charm. Overall I had a great stay, enjoyed the breakfast and had a nice time unwinding on the massage chair every night overlooking a great sunset view of the city.

remm was recommended by Denman826 and I decided to set up base here to explore the attractions in the area, namely Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi Hills and teamLab Borderless at Azabudai Hills. remm eventually became our favourite accomodation for this trip. The entire street heading southeast has enough stuff to do during our few days here. We took an airport limousine from Narita and alighted at Ritz Carlton and did a short stroll here. The front desk at level 4 processed our booking and we returned later to do a self check in using the kiosks since it was too early to check in. Our room opened immediately to the side table and a twin bed. The bathroom partition separating into three sections was a nice touch. There was ample space and we had a lovely view of the main street. Of course I have to talk about the massage chair. It's considered small by Asian standards but a perfect fit for my mum. It was a godsend from all the walking we would be doing. Help yourselves to the amenities kit and teabags from the lobby. They also have microwaves and vending machines, as well as guides around the corner. Being near the Oedo and Hibiya line was crucial to our itinerary and you would want to do well to plan from there.

The hotel and breakfast were great. The toilet, however, was a little judgey ;) . The hotel itself was conveniently-located in the arts district, central to getting to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Asakusa, Akihabara, etc. The hotel was modern and efficient. They had amenities at the reception area just in case you wanted an extra cuppa in your room, or in case you forgot to bring any toiletries. The rooms were a tiny bit cramped (no space for luggage), but that's to be expected in Japan. The shower was fantastic. And the toilet...I was just kidding earlier, it's a typical Japanese toilet. Except for the fact that it cleans itself after every time you use it, which feels a little OCD. I couldn't help but feel just a bit offended after every use, ha ha! The incredible view of Tokyo Tower made up for it, though, particularly at night. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of gluten free items to be had (I particularly liked the burdock root dish that had just a hint of sesame oil). They did a great job labeling the items with allergen information, which was super helpful, as being a celiac in Japan can be quite challenging. Overall, a very nice place to stay in a great location.

I was pretty happy with this hotel; the one drawback was that the room (an Economy Double Room, which is their smaller room) didn't have a decent place to store my suitcase or to store clothes, and I had to leave it open on the floor, somewhat in the way. The room was small but not too small, the desk had a safe that was big enough for a laptop, the bathroom worked well. The internet access was (as is typical in Japan) quite good. And since I got a room on the top (20th) floor, the view was quite good as well. The location is reasonably good since it's a one minute walk from the Roppongi intersection (and thus two subway lines), although Roppongi isn't really my favorite neighborhood in Tokyo. (Still, when the meeting is near Roppongi, best to stay there.) The breakfast is expensive; I only had it one morning, but the buffet had a pretty good selection (including muesli and yogurt which I appreciate). There's certainly no shortage of restaurants in the area, though.
