experience was good, quite a good selection of claw machines but prizes ratio for stuff toys, figurines, misc (eg food) are 3:2:1. not many pokemon toys anymore and tbh the stuff toys are quite difficult to catch. staff generally not as friendly as other claw machine places. would recommend figurines instead of stuff toys as it’s more worth the money.
rated 3 stars because experience was ruined by one of the staff. most of the staff we had interacted with were really nice except for 1 female staff.
we were playing the loid forger figurine claw machine game when the box was almost going to go in the hole. it however, bounced out and away from the hole (towards the back where the claw was no longer able to grab it). hence we called the staff to help put it back. however, the lady spoke very limited English and just put it back at its original position. seriously the first time it had ever happened (we had been to around 6-8 other claw machine places a few days before). we tried explaining with hand gestures but nope. she just closed the machine, said “only reset” and walked away. we were quite shocked. wasted around 1800¥ for the figurine to go back to its original position.
compared to the staff at other claw machine places (like GIGO) we had been to in Akihabara and Ikebukuro and even Western City at USJ which were super nice and would help you when they know you’re doing the proper technique but the toy somehow moved to an odd location, the staff at Round 1 Diver City...
Read moreI came here for the 1st time 4 years ago on my 1st visit to Japan and it was the best place ever. Made an effort just to come here cause we had so much fun before, what a big mistake. I only played a few crane games and I was unlucky enough to play 2 machines that were broken. The first broken machine had a screw missing on the grabber so it never grabbed probably lost abit one that. The 2nd machine that was broken we didnt realise the platform had collapsed a little. We just didn't understand why the claw didn't grab the hop. We asked for help from what seem like the manager and he refused to help. After we kept trying we asked another person and he moved it to an easier position some how we still could win. After asking for the 5th time the young man realised the machine was broken, he couldn't even fix it. We just thought the rigged it that way. ¥7000 ish we spent on that machine. The first arcade my family went too that we didnt win anything as the its was harder than others. Machines are old and out dated. We came to japan mainly to play arcades, 1st time we went japan Round 1 was the best arcade company for us this time round it was the worst. We visited 3 Round ones so far and each one there was a bad experience. Better off saving you money and playing somewhere else. Taito this time round seem to be the best arcade for us. Good customer service and reasonable price to pay to win a...
Read moreWe went here twice on our trip around Tokyo. The first time we went, I noticed a few people's items getting stuck in the crane. The associates helped them and gave them the items without issue. We had no issues the first day except a few machines not working. However, the last day of our trip, we decided to visit again as a wrap-up and fairwell to Japan. I won a prize on the second try perfectly, but it got wedged in the shoot. A kind Japanese woman told me to go find one of the workers because I won it, but I didn't want to leave the machine so she went to get one. He hurried back with her to find me, an American white woman, waiting for his help. I'm not normally one to scream racism, but when he said "no, doesn't count" after watching several associates helping others who weren't even as close as mine, I'd have to say this was clearly racism. The guy moved it into a spot I couldn't get it from and the manager was no help. Is 10,000 yen a person a lot to them? I'm not sure, but they lost out on that much times four because me and my family left instead of dropping another 10k each which was the plan. I hope the manager sees this and realizes if his team treats Americans poorly, he loses out on quite a lot of money and fixes the issue. It won't ever be an issue to me again since it was our last day here, but I hope they start treating Americans better...
