This was a fun little venue to go see a concert in but the staff seemed a little odd. I asked the girl at the bar for a drink and it seemed like she didn't understand me or had an anxiety attack or something because she blanked out and started shaking. I don't know if it was because my Japanese was poor or what, but it was weird. Luckily the other girl at the counter helped me and was very nice. Since I got there early, there were only a few people in the venue, but I noticed this one young-looking woman who appeared to be drunk to the point of passing out in the afternoon and was making a scene. I don't know what the deal was with her. Later on, one of the other staff asked me if she could borrow an extra ¥1000 "to buy food". The whole thing was definitely strange and a little offputting. The concert was great though, the ambiance was fantastic and the drinks were cheap. A word of advice for future concert-goers: if you want tickets/refreshments make sure you talk to the girl with the long ponytail, she's super nice, can understand a lot of English and we chatted a bit about our favorite bands. She even told me she was working to help finance her own band and asked if I wanted to come check them out- they were playing at a school in a week and I would have gone to see them if I didn't have to go back home before then. Overall, a great, wallet-friendly experience with good music, even if the people working there are a bit quirky.
TIP for first-time visitors: If you are a foreigner do not make eye contact with the short-haired girl working there or she will try to beg money off of you. The other staff...

Read moreLike many foreigners, I first heard about this venue from Bocchi the Rock, but reading about its history and cultural significance was what convinced me to come see a show here if I ever was in the area. Today ended up being the day I was able to come see a show, and I had a wonderful time. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating of my limited knowledge of Japanese, and the staff member outside helped me at a LivePocket account to purchase a ticket online for the lower price, compared to the higher price I would have paid at the door. The music was very loud, which made it a bit hard to make out some lyrics (especially when combined with my aforementioned limited Japanese), but I was still able to enjoy the music nonetheless, even from the back row. The energy in the venue is extremely energetic, though photosensitive visitors should be warned of the use of strobe lights. Overall, I had a wonderful time here and definitely plan on seeing another performance if I'm ever in the area again! And thank you to NANONI for the wonderful performance, you made my visit night...
