The cute pictures you see are misleading, as the dogs are trained for them and get treats. Most of the dogs in the café are huddled up in corners, moving away from humans. They move away instantly once they get the treat. Please do not make the same mistake as me and support Animal Welfare by NOT going to Animal Café’s! Even the ones with high ratings like this one!

I went and visited today and left after 10 minutes even though I paid for 1 hour. In another 1 star review the owner responds saying the dogs do get let out on walks etc and have ‘shifts’ of about 3 hours after which they have a 1 hr break etc and I would like to respond to that answer with this review. No matter if the dogs get walks and get ‘breaks’ it is not enough as they seem VERY overstimulated and agitated and simply do NOT want to get pet or even get attention from humans, whether you are good/experienced with animals or not.

No matter what the owner says, the reactions and behavior of the dogs tell another story.

There are way too many people let in every shift for the amount of dogs and the dogs do not have an outdoor space in the cafe, nor do they have the right amount of space to get away from all the customers. You will see the dogs either lying in corners, standing up to move away whenever people start petting them or they are walking around looking for food from customers or staff. With a lot of customers luring them with food and then not giving them any as you only get 3 pieces of kibble upon entering the café. I felt terrible afterwards for supporting by paying for entering.

Dogs are naturally very sociable and friendly creatures and when you see them overstimulated like this it all points toward them not being in a situation that is suitable for them(no matter how many breaks or walks the owners says they get, behavior does not lie). As a dog owner you will INSTANTLY feel bad if you visit this place. I visited because I thought they must get cared for in the right way and have enough space because of the 4.9 rating and am saddened this is not the case. Other people that visited the café at the same time I did shared the same sentiment upon seeing the dogs.

Please do not make the same mistake as me and support Animal Welfare by not going to Animal Café’s! No matter how high the rating is! I was planning on going to a high rated cat café and will not be going after this experience. As an animal lover, this just truly is not right.
