Stayed here for 10 days, and as Titanium, was upgraded to "high floor".. room remained 34SQM size. Room was fine, bed/pillows a bit soft (for me). Bathroom had tub/walk in shower..small walk in shower but had waterproof door so no leakage and great water pressure. Had small fridge for water, etc. Room doors thankfully do not slam and are very quiet. Rarely had a long wait for an elevator. Had zero issues with the front desk and concierge.||I chose this location primarily for ease of access for Narita Express, and Tokyo train accessibility, and Shin-Yokohama access. I had 2 large suitcases, plus a carry on and backpack. While this hotel is not in metro Tokyo, I did not want to stay at a Bonvoy where I needed a taxi or metro/subway to/from hotel and NRT express stations. I stayed at Shinagawa Marriott last time, and while close to the Shinagawa, one still needs the small van to/from hotel with larger amt of luggage. Getting from Yokohama station NRT express to the hotel was no problem with all of my luggage (no luggage cart of course). Just follow the “west underpassage” exit signage and it leads you directly to the Sheraton. Just need some patience to navigate the crowds and elevators. This aspect was perfect for me. Also easy access to Blue Line subway to Shin Yokohama. Its all underground from hotel to train station. ||I only tried to lounge one evening, and was denied because “I did not have a reservation”. This was a bit off-putting, but I understand it was for crowd control. Otherwise, due to my work schedule, I did not attend the lounge or other hotel eateries. There is every possible food option at the Yokohama train station, and it’s a short walk and super useful. Plus a Starbux on the 2nd floor once in the station open till 10PM.||Yokohama station is a 20/30 mins express train ride to most of metro Tokyo. Tokyo Starbucks Roastery was 4 stops away (@22 mins), and a 10 min walk from Naka-Meguro. For cigar smoke, no smoking permitted outdoors, only at designated spots. For the hotel, its only in the smoking rooms on 1st and 5th floor. ||Overall, the perfect Tokyo Bonvoy for me in terms of public...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for one night. I was assigned room 1819. My nightly rate with all taxes and fees was $167.40 USD per night. ||Service - ||I arrived early via train from Tokyo Shinjuku. To my surprise, I only needed to wait 10 minutes to check-in. Friendly service from the female Vietnamese front desk staff member. The gentleman at the concierge desk was nice, but I felt he could have been more knowledgeable, especially for someone working at a major hotel concierge desk. He had to go into a separate office to get a simple map. That is something that should be right there at the desk! He was trying to be helpful, but my basic and specific questions seemed to be too complicated for him.||Room - ||My room was on floor 18. It did not have a nice view. I liked the room, though. The room was compact and very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, the AC made the room freezing cold, mini-refrigerator, safe, iron, ironing board, technologically advanced lighting, fast wi-fi, phone, and window shade that made the room completely dark when sleeping in.||The bathroom was compact as well, but perfect. Old school deep tub with shower curtain, but the water pressure was extremely powerful and the water temperature was perfect. Adequate counter space in bathroom and in tub for your toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner, and soap are in dispensers attached to the wall.||Hotel Information -||The hotel has 358 rooms and 28 floors. To be specific, the lobby, a shop, and bank are on floor 1, the rooms are on floors 10-27, and the lounge and teppanyaki restaurant is on floor 28. ||Huge, well-lit, multi-story, and inviting lobby. ||Location - ||The perfect location in Yokohama! It is within feet of the Yokohama station (west entrance). It sits above an underground mall and attached to high-rise buildings and department stores. Super convenient to take the train to all of the sights in Yokohama. ||I highly recommend this hotel if your travels take you...
Read moreI have stayed at the Yokohama Bay Sheraton hotel many times, including an extended, two months long stay during COVID-19 when my relatives and I stayed in Japan after our flights were disrupted. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was disappointing compared to our wonderful experiences over the years.||Having been an Ambassador Elite status guest since 2019 and as a return guest to this hotel, there was no special acknowledgment at check-in. And unlike several reviewers who had received suite upgrades and welcome amenities/gifts, I was only offered a larger remodeled standard room. Don’t get me wrong, the remodeled larger room has wonderful decors and offers sufficient space for one, but it would be nice if a return guest is given options. Further, there was a problem with the guest room - it was located adjacent to the housekeeping storage room. As a result, there was constant noise starting in the morning when housekeepers began their shift, as staff started their daily tasks and accessed the storage room, making it difficult to enjoy peace and comfort in the guest room.||Additionally, the property’s main restaurant on the 2nd floor is under renovation, so breakfast is served at the rooftop restaurant. While all the waiters and waitresses were warm and courteous, several food items, including the popular bread selections such as baguette, ran out daily as early as an hour after the restaurant opened at 7:00 AM. The restaurant was also quite chaotic during the weekend.||Given the circumstances and the disappointing experience, I ultimately shortened the stay. I sincerely hope my next visit to the Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel will be a better one, as I have always appreciated the classic décor, convenience of the Sheraton and cherish the wonderful memories. Hopefully, the management will offer improvement in return guest recognition, status recognition, and some consideration for return guests when allocating...
