We were unfortunately not able to buy tickets to get into the castle due to a (frankly) rude ticket agent. The museum wasn’t super busy, there was absolutely no line at the time, and we walked up with the necessary money in hand to pay for 4 tickets, but were refused service. Really not sure what could have caused her reactions, it was only about a minute total in interaction where she seemed extremely annoyed at our presence and repeatedly told us to go elsewhere. We were visiting as part of a cruise, so perhaps she was tired of all the English speaking tourists from the day? Whatever it was, we were obviously not welcome there, so we sadly just left.

Read moreAt the moment two different exhibitions take place at the Castle Museum. The entrance fee is very fair (0,87€ for students, regular price is around 1,85). The first exhibition deals with the history of the castle itself as well as with the history of Klaipeda from when it first was mentioned until today. Even though the exhibition includes some pretty interesting artefacts, the main problem is that all the explanations are only written in Lithuanian. Hence, as long as one is not able to understand Lithuanian at lot of the information is lacking. 3/5 The second exhibition focuses on the role of Klaipeda and whole Lithuania during World War II.
